We know. It's Linux and macOS only (I think) and we didn't manage to fix it yet, it's logged here github.com/torakiki/pdf... I think it has to do with the framework we use but we didn't manage to fix it yet. If you close the dialog and click run again they are sized correctly

No, it's because we included CJK fonts so that the Merge tool can generate ToC and footers in those languages

Can you please post to support@pdfsam.org ? If possible attaching a sample file and specifying the latest version number that was working. I don't recall any change in that area that could affect speed but we can investigate.
