Peter Bronez @pbronez.me · 08/04/2025It’s impossible to work out the details on these things when private equity owns the conversation and wants to maximize wealth extraction from your community. We need to strength democracy so politicians have healthy incentives to deliver high quality policy. 010
Peter Bronez @pbronez.me · 08/04/2025So frustrating that these problems are attacked with bad faith solutions that just funnel money to the already rich. We need modern building codes, loosened zoning regulations and robust inspection capability to unlock a building boom. These are good for developers now, good for renters later. 110
Peter Bronez @pbronez.me · 08/04/2025What is the quality floor for #housing? Imagine you have $100/mo for housing. You’re one of 8 people sharing a safe 2 br apt for $800/mo. Peter Bronez @pbronez.me · 08/04/2025I’ve been thinking about this. One way to lower housing prices is to build lots of lower grade housing. There would be more places to live, and they would cost less. Historically, cheap places to live omitted features like running water and fire safety. That’s no longer acceptable. 160

Peter Bronez @pbronez.me · 07/04/2025Interesting article, thanks for sharing. The goal is to fix politicians’ incentives so they fix problems. To do that, we must: - get higher-quality input from more voters, more often. - empower votes over dollars There are many ways to do this. I’ll support any proposal that moves us forward. 000
Peter Bronez @pbronez.me · 06/04/2025Yup. Which is yet another reason Trump’s approach is ineffective: The USA will never do authoritarianism better China.
