Both tours are a mess at the top right now. Jannik and Carlos hurt (Felix TBD after his incident in Montreal). Aryna and Elena can't win a tournament to save their lives right now. Predictability can be boring but this is absolute chaos.

Fair, the US Open is notorious for this too. I feel tennis is the only sport with a consistently falsely advertised start time. Baseball, soccer, basketball, football all start when they say they'll start. Why can't we do the same for these standalone finals.

Any clue why players are taking the court so late both yesterday and this morning? When did a 9a EST start time mean 918a EST entrances? I get the Slams want their pre-final ceremonies but schedule those for 830a EST so the final can start on time.

Not wrong. Just playing devil's advocate that the mental and physical load is likely the same, just inverted. Not sure what the solution would be aside from eliminating tournaments (good luck telling owners to kick rocks) or reducing the number of mandatories (also good luck).

Not that I agree with the schedules (they do need a severe overhaul) but is it any more grueling than b2b Madrid/Rome with a week off before Roland Garros or Canada/Cincinnati with a week off before the US Open? Or do the players put up with that schedule because the Grand Slam is after the 1000s?
