I think because the people closest to me can still see “where I came from” I don’t look that different. But I gotta say, relatives who hadn’t seen me in a while and even strangers called me sir at Granddad’s funeral. People who have no stake in my feelings see me as a guy.

These sorts of goofs are part of the normal writing process; it’s why you NEED a good editor, preferably versed in your specific genre. Now that I’ve edited audiobooks for a couple years now, GenAI audio squicks me out even more. Knowing the errors humans make, AI must be soooo much worse o.O;

I accidentally stumbled into a GenAI romance series a couple years back; read 3 books then quit, cuz things were consistently slightly off. Too many dangling threads that any human editor would’ve picked up - pets that disappear, clothes coming off in nonsensical order, changing eye colour.

My bachelorette was pie (pizza) and pie (the dessert), eaten while we got slightly tipsy and bowled a few games. We rented four lanes and the gals surprised me with a mini-shower. My cooking was terrible back then so I got some thoughtful kitchen stuff. Hand written recipe books, too.
