👀👇 To see the ceremonial displays of Roman cavalry units based at the Trimontium fort at Newstead must have been an amazing sight for all to see. We’ve magnificent heritage on our doorstep & it’s a reminder of the amazing finds on display at Trimontium Trust in Melrose & Royal Museum in Edinburgh.

Great to see such progress on the rate of restoration of peatland to more than 14,000 Hectares per annum. Good bit to go to hit the 2030 target, but heading in right direction and wonderful news for carbon sequestration & biodiversity that 90,000 Hectares have been restored so far. Well done! 👏 😀

A sea-rious success for marine restoration. 🦪 With help from volunteers, #RestorationForth has deployed 10,000 more European flat oysters into the Forth - now over 40,000 in total! Oysters are true power players in the fight against biodiversity loss, creating thriving habitats for marine life. 💙

#EuropeDay is now an annual reminder of what we have lost because of a Brexit that I & most Scots did not vote for. I dearly wish my home, Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, (& the UK) was still part of the EU 🇪🇺. Hopefully, one day we will rejoin🇪🇺 as I firmly agree/believe the EU has been a force for good & for peace.

NEW: 2024 has just been confirmed as the warmest year on record, and the first to breach the 1.5C threshold. We used a ridgeline (Joy Division inspired) chart to visualise daily temperature anomalies since 1940. 2024 clearly stands out with 100% of its days above 1.3C and 75% above 1.5C.

Back from the funeral of one of our campaign team from my days in politics. A kind, smart & generous soul & ex-farmer, he’d be on duty in all weathers with our stall set up before anyone could help him, & was great for morale - indeed his humour came across 💪 in his Eulogy. I’m still absolutely buzzing from that late win against Poland. What an amazing performance, with two brilliant 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 goals (Poland’s was also a cracker). Scotland (Fifa ranking 51 in 🌍) were written off by many, yet grabbed 7 points from last 9 playing against 7th🇵🇹, 12th🇭🇷& 31st🇵🇱 ranked teams in 🌍. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👏😁
