Up until the last 15 minutes, Jaws 4 is better than Jaws 3. (This was all triggered by realizing I had never seen Jaws 2, and they're all on Netflix) #LastFourWatched

Violent Saturday is very good (also a bank heist crime movie shot in Cinemascope!) Towing is very bad - but shot in 1976 industrial Chicago with young Joe Mantegna and Mike Nussbaum #LastFourWatched

One thing I love about Night of The Hunter is Laughton shoots Lillian Gish like she's the biggest star in the world. Gives her a big reveal, etc. You can tell he's excited to have her. The Sartana movies are unfortunately not as good as their titles.

The parolees help him solve crimes! Mariska Hargitay is a teenage karate expert!
An LAPD veteran is assigned with supervising four parolees (a kleptomaniac dowager; a con artist; a young karate expert with attitude and a wise-mouthed pickpocket) who help him solve crimes while trying to keep them out of jail at the same time.

Not on here is The Big Knife (1955), about the dark side of Hollywood, with speeches about the theater and the dreams of the common man. Written by Clifford Odets, so you can definitely see Barton Fink writing that shit.

Masters of the Universe was terrible, it wanted to be Dungeons & Dragons so bad. 10/10 character design and costumes, though. Seeing Anvil! The Story of Anvil at the Music Box was a canon date with @captainawkward.bsky.social

I have to admit this definition in the contract gave me a chuckle.
"AEW Marks" means, collectively, all Marks of AEW, as they may exist and be modified from time to time.

I watched The Defender to get some young Shatner, but you got Steven McQueen! Martin Balsam! An uncredited Ed Asner as a juror with no lines! And Ralph Bellamy looks exactly the same as he does 30 years later in Trading Places.

Not in the last 4 here, but Elvis movies are a comfort food for me, and I recently watched King Creole - it is far too competently made! An actual plot? Real actors? Michael Curtiz? Sirs, I am here to see Elvis be a race car driver or to have an identical cousin.

Loved He-Man as a kid and will catch the movie when it comes around, but the shots I've been seeing remind me of the covers of the original Golden Books (which were fucking sick).

Reading "You Might Remember Me" it becomes very clear that Phil was in an abusive marriage. It was years of control, isolation, and resentment by Brynn. People don't seem to have the language for it the way they would for a husband doing the exact same things. Also this bugfuck quote had me livid
JULIA SWEENEY:
The day he died, I felt a lot of compassion for [Brynn]. Because I had just gotten out of a relationship a couple of years before that with a very passive guy who was making me crazy with his passivity.
And I could see how someone [like that] could make you go crazy. And I don't even do drugs. I can only imagine how I would be if I was also doing drugs. That doesn't make it right, but [it's like], "Say something to me! Why aren't you talking to me? Don't look down! Or just say what you're thinking about right now! Just talk to me. But don't shut down when I'm upset."
I really empathize with her, even though it was completely her fault and such a disaster how it came out. I also empathize with her about when she realized what she did. The bravest thing she did was kill herself. I thought it was a loving thing to do for Phil.

One of the problems with this one is the other people in the car with SS Agent George Hickey included Kenneth O'Donnell and David Powers. So they had an AR-15 fired 1 foot away from their ears that they saw blow off their best friend's head and decided to never mention that to anyone.
