Pro-European, only a federal Europe can compete at the same level as the US and China. “Whatever it takes” Europe must be one of the three global players, for the sake of some sanity on this planet.

In 2017 Macron spoke of 'strategic autonomy' for Europe, -Defense & Security -Economic De-risking -Geopolitical Independence +- the same Charles de Gaulle always advocated. It's about time that Europe and the US engage and respect each other as equals.

The US addressed the "minimis" issue in 2025, the EU is dealing with it in its usual manner, snail paced, perhaps in 2038 will the EU be ready to do what the US did in 2025. Start seriously thinking of a Federal Europe now, or become subservient to China/USA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0mp...

Draghi's fact based arguments for a Federal Europe shuts up any nationalistic notion. Macron's call for 'Strategic autonomy' was wide eyes open. These two men think European and neither is shortsighted, one of them must lead Europe asap. (We all know there is no such a thing as a perfect leader)

Crisis upon crisis has made Europe take small steps into integrating a bit more, perhaps this crisis made by Trump, probably the most painful ever, might lead Europe into a federal Union. Draghi, Lagarde, Sikorski have been demanding such a Europe without ever saying the word Federal.

The USA behaviour makes Greenland crucial for European security, the GIUK gap is within the European slice of the arctic pie, the US wants Europe to take care of its neighbourhood, so it will take care of its slice. Giving Greenland to Putin's friend is not wise from the European perspective.

Because “smaller states tend to pay the price” EU’s quasi-federal status must evolve into a United States of Europe, nationalistic stances even by the largest European states will lead them into irrelevance on the world stage. Denmark's Euro opt-out is a myopic view of what Europe must be.
