Happy to share the newest paper from the Khaliq Lab! 🎉 We show that striatal dopaminergic axons can integrate GABAergic inhibition and nicotinic excitation to shape their output. www.cell.com/cell-reports...

Presynaptic GABAA receptors control integration of nicotinic input onto dopaminergic axons in the striatum
Brill-Weil et al. show that axonal GABAA receptors regulate excitatory nicotinic input onto the axons of dopaminergic neurons. This regulation alters integration of the subthreshold nicotinic input to...

I was going to write a whole post about all this incredible work with all these amazing scientists and organizations, but I’ll just leave @stellatecomms.bsky.social design sizzle reel here. It speaks for itself. youtu.be/x2O7DkpIoCA?...

If you’re a federal govt employee targeted for leave or termination on the basis of your DEI work, please file an EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) complaint & retain legal counsel. I’m a former NIH PI. Happy to refer you to a law firm that has successfully sued the govt many times! Pls repost 🙏❤️

Do any neurophys folks, or any cell biologists, use 3D printers to make small tools for the lab? If so, which printer do you use and how do you use it?! @mattneuro.bsky.social I think you’re in on this, right?

If you too know when to clap in Elmo’s Letter Of The Day song, then you too must have a sick kid at home watching too much Sesame Street while you try to get some work done.

So, hello folks. I’m Paul Kramer, a new Asst. Professor at U Michigan. My lab studies how axons integrate and process neuronal information. We are interested particularly in dopaminergic axons, and how axon-specific processes contribute to neurological disorders like Parkinson’s and addiction.

For the first time all rigs in the lab were occupied on the same day at the same time and I wasn’t one of the users! We’re building up and up!
