It’s not as good as the other 3 but is funny in other ways (Baldrick being the smart one) it also has Brian Blessed in it so yeah it’s definitely worth a look

There’s no point trying to second guess what Trumps plan is as Trump doesn’t know and is constantly changing his mind. Fairford has been used like this for decades (I remember them bombing Libya from there in the 80’s) they can also send them back if they want to later.

I know a lot of people in my home town are going to be very happy about this especially my mum who hates seeing them fly over. The residents around the Fairford area are also going to be pleased that all the plane spotters will bugger off too

Yes the whole thing is a disgrace for a British political party especially one that sees itself as inclusive and tolerant. Sadly as many warn it looks like the people who caused labour so much trouble with antisemitism have moved to the greens and the Greens should have stopped that

It’s not very good on here tonight lots of Green supporters trying to brush off what happened at the conference and others much worse openly supporting it. It is actually very easy to criticise the Israeli government, support Palestines without being antisemitic but many people fail to do that

I don’t think I’ve ever paid any attention to any form of lifestyle nonsense and ignoring it all does make for a more enjoyable life

With the Greens doing this, the Tory’s doing weird “you’re not really English” shit and people on the right finally realising what Farage is I bet Andy Burnham can’t believe his luck

So it’s a lovely day out there so I will be spending the afternoon slightly hungover watching movies. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to start as I eat soup noodles. This is what Sundays are for

My parents and lots of people their age never want to go into a retirement home and see it as something you’re forced to do from ill health, but there’s loads around so lots of other people must like them

Yeah I have to admit when I came to ageing one thing I wasn’t expecting was friends doing things like triathlons as part of their midlife crisis/hobbies. Lots of variations of lifestyles but I don’t think I know anyone planning on going to a retirement compound in their 50’s

It’s not all about haves & have nots it also about planning and organising. Some people are just really bad with money and priorities. I’m not saying young people don’t have it bad this is more there’s plenty over 40 who are in for quite a shock

I always struggle with these kinda conversations because yes I know it’s all about averages but I work with people older & younger who earn more than me & they rent, have no pension and blow their cash. I don’t just save I enjoy life but on less money I have a house, pension & savings.

Been in the pub. Ive looked they also do a vegetarian feast. Now all we have to do is justify a trip to south London that requires that level of eating. Obviously it’s not an all the time kinda place but definitely looks worth a visit

I just showed my wife (who annoying is a very fussy eater and doesn’t do much meat) she wants to know if they do a vegetarian tasting menu too?

Excellent plan wish you luck on the greens and in the clubhouse. Love an Indian restaurant for lunch but then not much productive normally happens after that

I’m trying to remember which comedian did a good joke about it (think it might have been Billy Bailey) but I was still quite surprised when it actually happened to me in shops, I thought he’d over exaggerated

No worries is fine it’s if you reply to a question with “too easy” you’ve gone too far! “Can I have these in a size 10 please?” “Too easy” So do that mean I get my shoes or do I like have to think of harder things for you to get

Not exactly a shock to receive the email saying I’ve been unsuccessful in the ballot for Ashes tickets in Southampton 🏏. Was always going to be high demand for that and minimal tickets after members

5000 years low interest rates?! It doesn’t take much to look up how much larger interest rates used to be compared to today just look at the 80’s & 90’s and it’s been a lot higher than that before

Paul killick @paulkillick.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Plus it doesn’t matter how well meaning you are try at shut the pubs, restaurants, cinemas, theatres etc on the weekends and see what happens
010
Paul killick @paulkillick.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Being generous and what with it being the guardian and all I suppose you could argue that if some people have to work at weekends it’s not the same as before. Which is a rubbish argument yes you could close all the shops but people will still have to work emergency services etc

I mean it’s quite the varied group of people over multiple generations you’d really have to stick it out in that cave to “not no most of them”. Maybe he just does God & yogurts?

Day keeps getting better! I accidentally broken something at work but managed to fix it myself before anyone noticed. (This is a lot better than the day I accidentally deleted windows from the computer but that place never found out who did that)

We took it in turns driving to & from the cricket I’m not sure rock/paper/scissors will cut it after wine tasting. (There is similar in Stoney too which is easier for a taxi we keep meaning to do)

A very nice thing to do and a well planned weekend. Much to my mums disgrace I’m not good at gardening and if anything is going to live in our garden it needs to be self sufficient.

I do really like wine but am far from an expert (never get hints of this and that just know what I like and what I don’t) but I think I’m right in saying Green wine is new cheap but good white that will not keep for years and has to be drunk within a year or so after bottling

Nice meal to start the weekend great. I am very glad of the early finish as it means I can get to the market today before it closes to pick up onions for pickling tomorrow and give me a head start. Better also pick up a meal for tonight to go with some wine as it’s Friday

That all sounds amazing in very different ways, 3 totally different days making a great weekend! I normally go for red wines but a Portuguese green wine as the sun goes down sounds perfect

Right it’s Friday so I’m steering well clear of the politics you’re all talking about & I’ll skip the AI, fuel, stock market doom….. anyone doing anything good this weekend in the autumn sun? I have good chores (with good tunes) plus pub and a meal out planned. That’ll do

That would be passable for America so no it’s not correct. Apparently for Americans being shot by a gun is part of freedom but having your image taken by a camera is evil and against freedom. Shot by gun = Good Shot by camera = Bad shot

Wasn’t really expecting one of the things I was going to like the most being Ross Kemps level of paranoia. Think that could get a lot more entertaining

I guess you made some excellent onions then and with very clean jars. I may see if I can keep some for summer and ploughman’s lunches this time

I get pickling preserves stuff but they still ok? I make my own because all the ones in the shops are soft and I hate soft pickled onions

8 year old picked onions 😳. I don’t think a jar has lasted past March in our house….. and it’s a massive jar I keep for myself

Tiz the time of year, I will mainly be pickling onions at the weekend

No loads from all backgrounds plan to retire in places like Spain and now a lot have realised they now need to do a lot more to do so and have more funds. The idea that it costs too much here but I can afford to retire there is very common

I’m pretty sure people tried to do that but is was one of those things labelled as “project fear” with the of course they won’t stop you living in Europe they need us more than we need them extra. Which later moved to “they are punishing us for Brexit which proves us right to leave”

I’ve only lived in a rental once and the landlord did admit the oven was a lot cleaner when I handed it back and was very happy to get full deposit returned. As for eating in bed young single hungover of course I’ve had all sorts of takeaways. Married breakfast in bed at the start no more cos crumbs
