Right now, Michael Jackson is all over my social network feeds, and the posts are bringing up a swirl of conflicting ideas and emotions I have no idea will ever be fully resolved. So, I wrote it out. "What Do I Do With Michael Jackson's Legacy?" medium.com/@paulkatz9/w...

I just heard about Brian Wilson, one of my musical heroes. Full body chills as I type. Beyond PET SOUNDS, I'd like to draw your attention to his 1988 LP, BRIAN WILSON, which exemplifies every bit of joy I had that year & beyond. Listen to those harmonies at 1:30!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH2a...

I lost my Streisand collection to a flood in my house in LA 20 years ago, so I understand the feeling. I built mine up again - her albums tend to pop up at all the various vinyl shops 'round town. ...and don't be surprised if there is a reissue this year (although I know it's not the same).

I hear hosts say "I don't host Spaces or Pods for me, but for others." This, to me, sounds like fear of being viewed as "selfish." As if a host is not allowed to get benefit from hosting. I've learned hosting is as much for me as it is for anyone else. I hope other hosts internalize this.

I still think it's very cool they're doing anything. I found you via the Albumism post about music you can't live without. We have a lot of music love in common!

Today's security breach news is just one more step towards all of this falling apart. This is not going to last. And how it ultimately falls apart is going to be something we cannot imagine and have never seen before. Just like this MASSIVE f/up, to quote Pete.

"Squeeeeee" The sound you make (sorta) when k.d. lang - unexpectedly - tweets a thank you after you comment on a link RuPaul put up by complimenting her album "Invincible Summer." Yes -- that is how I started my morning 7 years ago today!

It also doesn't feel “all over the place” as interviews and the title have suggested. Gaga has such a unique way of approaching pop-rock music, and I like MAYHEM a lot. (2/2) #LadyGaga #Mayhem #music

I was concerned about whether I’d like Lady Gaga’s new album; the promo and the album artwork/iconography indicated something dark, and there is enough dark right now. I'm grateful - the tone is much lighter than expected. (1/2) #LadyGaga #Mayhem #Music

The most unfortunate thing is, nothing Ezra alludes to is not already present across the massive amount of songs #Prince recorded. That can't be hidden. It's all there. His entire struggle. A hagiography makes little sense and will confuse future fans. Ezra's attempt was valiant. #Prince4Ever

...and here it is, from Ezra Edelman's mouth. The miscalculation "the Estate" is making is enormous; especially the discussion of the whitewashing of #Prince for both B'way and whatever doc comes next. (1 of 2) #Prince4Ever www.youtube.com/watch?v=X93Y...

For those upset Cynthia Erivo didn't win tonight: she'll not only be nominated for Best Actress again next year, but also co-wrote one of the new songs in WICKED: FOR GOOD which will *unquestionably* be nominated for Best Song. She will get her EGOT next year; one way or another. Maybe two. #Oscars

Look, y'all, Demi was not robbed. She was fine in THE SUBSTANCE, despite it not making much sense. She had three really good scenes, but by comparison, Mikey Madison carries the whole dang movie. The Academy made the correct choice. Demi would not want to win just because of "a narrative." #Oscars

Zoe Saldaña is a major example ofwhy I enjoy the #Oscars year after year. Watching people reach the pinnacle of their craft, and losing themselves in the moment of such fantastic joy. We should all be so lucky to have moments like this - whether or not they are televised. I am deeply moved.

Raye had some nice vocal moments late in the game, but it's clear Adele songs are a very specific style, and singers need to make it their own and stay away from imitating a sound. #Oscars

Absolutely gorgeous opening to the #Oscars - from the LA tribute, to Ariana's "Over the Rainbow" and Cynthia's "Home", to getting to hear them both belt out "Defying Gravity". I'm super sad WICKED will likely go home empty handed tonight. It's the only one people will be talking about in 100 years.

Republicans have to be on record as voting against tax cuts for billionaires. And we have to hope the American people trusting those Republicans find out and *know* that doesn't help them. If those Americans find out and hold them accountable - good! www.youtube.com/watch?v=MR6i...

Host of a 'spiritual' audio chat just said "I'm a hugger. If I ever meet you in person, you're getting a hug." Even if this host means well, they're saying, "Your boundaries don't matter. I will force you to be hugged because that's what * I * want." People need to be mindful of their phrasing.
