Right now, Michael Jackson is all over my social network feeds, and the posts are bringing up a swirl of conflicting ideas and emotions I have no idea will ever be fully resolved. So, I wrote it out. "What Do I Do With Michael Jackson's Legacy?" medium.com/@paulkatz9/w...

I just heard about Brian Wilson, one of my musical heroes. Full body chills as I type. Beyond PET SOUNDS, I'd like to draw your attention to his 1988 LP, BRIAN WILSON, which exemplifies every bit of joy I had that year & beyond. Listen to those harmonies at 1:30!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH2a...

I hear hosts say "I don't host Spaces or Pods for me, but for others." This, to me, sounds like fear of being viewed as "selfish." As if a host is not allowed to get benefit from hosting. I've learned hosting is as much for me as it is for anyone else. I hope other hosts internalize this.

Today's security breach news is just one more step towards all of this falling apart. This is not going to last. And how it ultimately falls apart is going to be something we cannot imagine and have never seen before. Just like this MASSIVE f/up, to quote Pete.

I was concerned about whether I’d like Lady Gaga’s new album; the promo and the album artwork/iconography indicated something dark, and there is enough dark right now. I'm grateful - the tone is much lighter than expected. (1/2) #LadyGaga #Mayhem #Music

For those upset Cynthia Erivo didn't win tonight: she'll not only be nominated for Best Actress again next year, but also co-wrote one of the new songs in WICKED: FOR GOOD which will *unquestionably* be nominated for Best Song. She will get her EGOT next year; one way or another. Maybe two. #Oscars

Look, y'all, Demi was not robbed. She was fine in THE SUBSTANCE, despite it not making much sense. She had three really good scenes, but by comparison, Mikey Madison carries the whole dang movie. The Academy made the correct choice. Demi would not want to win just because of "a narrative." #Oscars

Zoe Saldaña is a major example ofwhy I enjoy the #Oscars year after year. Watching people reach the pinnacle of their craft, and losing themselves in the moment of such fantastic joy. We should all be so lucky to have moments like this - whether or not they are televised. I am deeply moved.

Host of a 'spiritual' audio chat just said "I'm a hugger. If I ever meet you in person, you're getting a hug." Even if this host means well, they're saying, "Your boundaries don't matter. I will force you to be hugged because that's what * I * want." People need to be mindful of their phrasing.

Just saw TizzyEnt's vid-capture where Elon's kid clearly says two things to DT in the Oval: 1) "You're not the President. You need to go away"; and 2) "I want you to shut your f/ing mouth up." As Tizzy says, the kid is *repeating* what he's heard. This will unravel. It's a question of how soon.

Went to get a haircut. They had CNN on one of the TVs. Silent. 1st time I've seen "mainstream media" in a long while. EM in the Oval conducting a "news conf" with his kid on his shoulders while DT just sits behind the Resolute Desk, letting EM lead. The sight of it. A desecration. Enraging.

Paul Katz 𓋹 🏳️‍🌈 @paulkatz.bsky.social · 10/02/2025

It continues to shock me every time I hear someone in an audio conversation for 'high consciousness / spirituality' sneak in their praise of EM for how he's "trying to fix our government." What he's doing is not helpful, it's hurtful; and hurtful is not spiritual. I am being judgmental. Don't care.

If the 9-hour doc would have left people feeling sad or disturbed by Prince's life, this is a good decision. The "offending" bits have been memorialized in that article last fall. I didn't hear much about how music was used in the other doc. Hopefully that's the next focus. #Prince #Prince4Ever
