Hoe vaak staan we er écht bij stil dat niet iedereen gesprekken volgt, het nieuws hoort of omroepberichten meekrijgt? Op 23 september werd Internationale Dag van de Gebarentalen gevierd en hadden we een bijzonder gesprek met mensen uit de dovengemeenschap. Ontzettend nuttig en leerzaam!

I struggle with this. Chronic illness is it's own personal hell. Everyday I am reminded of what I lost thanks to illness. I have been grieving my hands lately. They are so swollen, makes even posting this hard. I share because I know there are others like me out there. I see you. I am so sorry.

Okay, not gonna lie. From the moment the train had to stop early because a person jumped on the tracks, we had to walk two hours and the hotel accidentally gave the one accessible room away (it got solved for us, thank Glob), it has been fucking hell to get here. #PoepPraat Sinds woensdag ben ik aan het darm spoelen. 1 liter water erin en weer eruit is de bedoeling. Zo dat de darmen weer wat aan het werk gaan. Het kost mij 45 minuten per dag om uit te voeren. In feite voelt het alsof je jezelf een enorme buikgriep aan doet. Dus de na-gedoe duurt langer.

Bevestiging nummer zoveel dat ziekenhuizen de verwijzingen niet goed lezen: mijn revalidatie arts zette expliciet op m’n verwijzing dat ik slechthorend ben en dus een fysieke afspraak nodig heb en in mijn woonplaats. Is de afspraak die ze ingepland hebben telefonisch en niet in mijn woonplaats 🙄🤷🏽‍♀️
