Ukraine is doing the meme. And it's working.
Meme of a crying man going "noooo you can't just vaporize my entire armored division, we had such a manly recruitment ad" and a woman with classes going "omg integrated fire support?? go off queen sksksk, JDAMs are such a gemini thing."

Can we throw away the cloud? I swear 70% of my work problems are aws/databricks being shitty or changed setups. I just want to have a damn line of code that says “load file X” and not have to ever change it again. Fuck all these complex access systems/portals.

Today is National Day Of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada aka Orange Shirt Day. Look it up please! A thousand or more people in a small town came to the Peace Walk to honour the memory of Indian Residential School victims and hear stories from survivors. This warms my heart so much.

It’s worth noting neo nazis tried this a bunch without catastrophic impact as has Russia with missiles. So good news is that grids are pretty resident to very large scale cascades and there has been a lot of effort to improve resilience to a couple of guys with rifles style attacks.

It’s so funny to compare employer AI guidance with AI proponents/rationalists online. It’s like 30 pages of IT settings and stuff to avoid unwanted access and to understand and verify stuff before using it. The workplace enthusiasts are still often annoying but much more grounded.

Fake species ID reading as follows: North American Fiber-Seeking Backhoe
Backhoe fili-comedens
AKA "Big Yellow Fiber Finder", "That $%#@*&^"
Continent:
North America
Habitat:
Mostly urban, occasionally sighted in suburbs or rural areas
Diet:
Fiber optic cables primarily, although it will consume other cables such as power lines when hungry
Weight:
5800 - 11000 kg
(approx. 13000 - 25000 Ibs)
Known for its inexhaustible appetite for buried fiber optic cables, this invasive species has multiplied across North America in recent years. A relative, the European Fiber-Seeking Backhoe, has also emerged across the Atlantic, although it has evolved to be smaller than the North American variety due to smaller European roadways. Scientists are still seeking a means to reduce the multiplication of this species; since current regulatory methods are proving ineffective, limited hunting permits are being proposed.

The US already got a do over. A mulligan. A second chance. Much of the world, especially US allies, were ready to write off Trump’s first term as a fluke. The American people’s choice to put him back in power—as a convicted felon, after an openly bigoted, anti-democracy campaign—showed it was not.
