Barely-there swimwear is the norm in Brazil, and body shaming worries don’t seem to bother anyone. They learn to accept their bodies from childhood. That ease in the sun comes with a cost: skin cancer is the most common cancer there, with non-melanoma cases making up ~30% and melanoma about 1%.

Activists storm the stage during the opening ceremony of #AIDS2026, shouting, “When people with AIDS are under attack, what do we do? Stand up, fight back,” along with other slogans aimed at pharmaceuticals, ICE, Trump, and genocidal murder in Gaza. It was as animated as things got.

Such sad news from a real journalist. @alzheimerssoc.bsky.social
Veteran news anchor Jon Snow has shared that he’s living with dementia, speaking publicly for the first time to raise awareness of a condition affecting around 1 million people across the UK.

Jon and his wife, neurologist Dr Precious Lunga, are supporting Alzheimer’s Society @alzheimerssoc and shared the story of Jon’s diagnosis in @DailyMail as part of our Defeating Dementia campaign with the newspaper.

dailymail.com/tvshowbiz/arti…

We’ve partnered with Jon, in association with @Channel4, on a powerful new documentary airing on 20 June. Jon Snow: A Last Big Story looks at how he’s navigating life with dementia, and how, when we all come together, we can change the story.

Thank you to Jon and Precious for their courage and openness to bring much-needed attention to dementia 💙

Lost in the back streets of Rotterdam, Dijkzigt, trying to find my way back to the DoubleTree Hilton Rotterdam Centre at Leuvehaven, where my room has the best showerhead I’ve ever experienced anywhere in my years of travel. But is Dijkzigt to Leuvehaven always this quiet?

AI feels like the Trojan horse of the twenty-first century. Invited in by big tech, trusted, and normalised by the people. Only once it’s inside do we realise what it carries: systems that quietly replace us, restructure work, and leave millions unemployed, wondering where they now fit.
Two-panel political cartoon.

Left: A cheering crowd welcomes a wooden Trojan horse with a glowing robot labelled “AI” inside, saying “AI is here to help!”

Right: A darker factory scene where robots dominate and workers leave with boxes, saying “What now?” and “We’re all out of a job!”

A private view at the 1957 Gallery on Thursday evening, where they turn basic painting techniques and rags stitched onto plastic bags and mats into money. They will be lucky if even one of these works of art sells at these prices, though they claim to clean up. Nice work if you can get it.

I first saw Sesame Street in Jamaica as a boy of seven. When I moved back to England three years later, it was the one familiar show on British TV that helped me acclimate to the country of my birth, which I’d left at three. I can still recite ‘Who are the people in your neighbourhood?’ 54 years on.
This is a vintage Life magazine spread celebrating the 25th anniversary of Sesame Street. The left side features a classic street lamp and Oscar the Grouch in his trash can, holding a “Messy Party” sign. The text recounts the show’s history, innovations, and cultural impact since its debut in 1969. On the right, a column titled “The People in the Neighborhood” lists notable characters and the years they first appeared, such as Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and Elmo. The layout combines nostalgic imagery with informative text, reflecting the show’s enduring legacy.

A crayon drawing shows a wooden surface with an open notebook, a house with a driveway, a map with a red dotted line, a key, an old envelope, and a feather. The handwritten message reads: “Am writing a literary nonfiction book about migration and memory…” The handle @paulboakye.net appears in the corner. Soft light and shadows add depth. The image suggests the things left behind to build a new life, across continents and years, where memory fades and return becomes an inevitable part of the story.
