i’ve got a few demos along the lines you mentioned above here: drive.google.com/drive/folder... you can also check out some more recent published music here, but that’s more funky/vibey/psychedelic synth stuff: patterndecay.bandcamp.com/album/wormwo...

yeah i definitely love using the creative lighting when i’m composing or jamming. i do feel like it makes it easier to get into the flow state, so i would absolutely recommend trying it out!

pattern decay @patterndecay.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

thanks so much! although i will say, videos that i light creatively tend to get far less engagement on social media than the ones that are just lit brightly and clearly. i personally think it looks better with colors, but the Almighty Algorithm disagrees 😆

just got this new piano, and it’s honestly such an inspiring instrument to play. i keep ending up spending a bunch of time just playing when i mean to be composing or practicing haha #synthesizer #synthsky #musiciansky #musicsky

reapproaching this track from a different direction. i think this is why i’ve been avoiding working with a narrative - stuff either doesn’t fit and sounds good, or fits but doesn’t sound good lol #synthesizer #synthsky #musiciansky #musicsky

visiting with family, so i don’t have access to my synths, but i found this arpy idea i had been working on a while back using teletone anamorph and a few previously recorded synth parts #synthesizer #synthsky #musiciansky #musicsky

decided to rewrite this section - the last one wasn’t quite the right vibe, and was a bit too busy and wander-y also the algorithm was not a fan of my “creative” lighting hahaha #synthesizer #synthsky #musiciansky #musicsky

pattern decay @patterndecay.bsky.social · 06/03/2025

focusing on one track at a time now so i can have the full songs streamable online sooner. also, experimenting with some new lighting to add a little visual interest as my idea to use a projector didn’t quite pan out. #synthesizer #synthsky #musiciansky #musicsky

pattern decay @patterndecay.bsky.social · 03/03/2025

thank you! i usually record midi to logic from whichever synth that part is for, and play it back when recording the audio, which gives me a lot of flexibility. as to the keys on the prophet, my cat knocked it off its stand a while back lol

Amazing article. "More recently, researchers have found that the viral outrage disseminated on social media ... actually reduces the effectiveness of collective action. The result is a media environment that keeps us in a state of ..fear and anger... instead of organizing against [our oppressors]."
