My dear friend @draconic.one will be at Pawcon this year, so if you fancy picking up some of her books or just stopping by for a chat I'm sure she would be delighted to have you come by. I don't think anyone who seriously likes sci-fi will regret picking up a copy or two of her books.

Oh, I WILL be at Pawcon this year! This is going to be the first con I've gotten to properly attend in about a decade, thanks to my stupid job. I'm even going to have books available there, if anyone wants to buy a copy! I'll be signing anyone's book who wants it, too. Excite!!

Today's fox turned out pretty well, I think. Slowly getting better in the wrist. #Fox #Sketch

That feeling when you complete a hobby project milestone is a marvelous one. Today I completed the front rank of my Achaemenid Persian cavalry. It feels good to have gotten this far. #Persia #Victrix

Of course, one cannot mention the villain casting such a large shadow over the setting of @sashafox.bsky.social book Theta without also mentioning the heroes of the book. In this case, the titular arctic fox Theta and the unflappable mustelid Jale Bercammon. This book was a wild ride. #Theta

I am glad that I am not the only one that the villain Knoskali from my friend @sashafox.bsky.social book Theta made a deep impression on. If you wish to see more of this dark, looming villain, be sure to check out Ephemeris as well. Rare is the villain that can live rent-free in my head. #Theta

The sprain in my left wrist is getting better. The fracture in the right will take time. I am now almost back to my previous level of drawing and painting. I don't think these foxes from yesterday and today are too shabby, considering I have not yet regained full use of the hand. #Foxes #Sketches

I had a bit of an accident yesterday, so I have a sprain in my left wrist and a fracture in the right. I can still sort of doodle foxes and do the things I need to do, albeit at a lesser level of "quality", as it were. But I will probably take it easy for a while until I get better. #Fox #Sketch

My first serious attempt at using markers to sketch a fox. Did this one a while ago. It was fun and frustrating in equal meassure. #Fox #Sketch #Markera

It has been a little while since I posted a fox, but I am pretty happy with this one I did yesterday. I think if you overlook the somewhat erroneous placement of the teeth it is decent. I suppose as it is it is a vampire fox...XD #Fox #Sketch

And this is why my friend @sashafox.bsky.social books are NOTAFLOF. So that anyone should be able to read and enjoy the Draconyma Cycle, (Theta, Dreams of Refugium and Ephemeris) even if they originally wouldn't be able to afford to. Give her books a try. They're well worth a read.

Pro tip for furries on a budget who love to read: If you can't afford a furry book you really want to read, you could just ASK the author. A lot of furry writers will happily send you an ebook, and even if they don't, as long as you ask respectfully, you won't cause offense — because they get it.

Finally, having at last gotten his trusty steed made ready, the banner bearer can go forth and spread the word of the King of Kings. And crush some Athenian heads while he's at it...XD #Persia #Victrix

And on the topic of doodled foxes today's fox turned out alright too, if you overlook the fact that the nose is a bit off. I am pleased with the whiskers on this one. The whiskers are one of the things which can make or break a fox. #Fox #Sketch

When you feel a bit down in the dumps for a percieved lack of progress in your artistic endeavours it is always good to see that there are people out there who put value on whatever you manage to produce for the sole reason that it isn't uninspiring slop made by soul-less machines.💜

PatriktheSwede @patriktheswede.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

The chihuahua mage is another piece with a lot of character. And with a total of two parts it was nice and easy to put together and clean up.

000

PatriktheSwede @patriktheswede.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

The hamster ranger have to be one of my favourite miniatures to come out of my Hamburg loot. It has so much character. Look at this plucky fellow. A real nice "come at me" pose on this one. He knows how to wield his stabby things.

010

PatriktheSwede @patriktheswede.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

I gave both the badger and the catfolk ranger a landsknecht hat as well, to help tie them all together thematically.

000

PatriktheSwede @patriktheswede.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

While assembling them I took the chance to modify them a little bit. The fox was missing the top of her hat, so the kind people of Hamburg Atlantis gave me a discount for her. I later scratch-built her some apppropriate headgear out of a Warlord Games landsknecht hat and an orle I had laying around.

000

PatriktheSwede @patriktheswede.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

I have been having a little bit of fun these last few day's with some of the loot I picked up in Hamburg while at Eurofurence. Though these minis where not bought at the con but rather at the Hamburg Atlantis store, I still consider them part of my con loot for their obvious anthro theme.

Yesterday's fox, in retrospect, does not seem so terrible that it does not deserve some internet exposure, though the symmetry is ever so slightly off. Slowly but surely getting there towards an acceptable (to me) standard. A reminder to never stop trying, I usppose. #Fox #Sketch
