it's a mini-CD single of his entrance theme; "Tanzaku" singles are in that long packaging with a cardboard sleeve, and a Google Lens search brings up this image.

Incredible. This band can go from this, to being one of the heaviest, most punishing acts I've ever seen live, without ever feeling like they have lost focus. There is nobody like them. There couldn't possibly *ever* be anyone else like them again.

You know the world's in a fucked up state when Laibach are making more or less unambiguous & unironic political statements, but at least they had the decency to do it while releasing an album of Eurovision-friendly pop bangers, & putting on an incredible show. What an absurd, brilliant, vital band

Slightly morbidly, the first part of the line is "I could've popped me clogs", but the follow-up "but I diiiiiiidn't" is 100% Lenny Biscuits.

There is no purer art form than NWOBHM songs where the song title is the same as the artist name. Bonus points to Angel Witch for hitting the trifecta with the album title too. Witchfinder General by Witchfinder General rules, though. It sounds like they tried to rip off every Sabbath song at once.

Went to the RA Richard Dadd exhibition - The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke is such a staggering, overwhelming piece of work; so much so that I was shocked to discover how small it was, given the amount of intense detail. I neglected to buy a print, because if I saw it every day I would Go Wrong.

This is the headline the BBC chose to best illustrate acts of attempted murder, terrorism, and attacks on an emergency service by an organised mob of fascist thugs. The media is completely captured, and yet cunts will still have the audacity to claim the BBC has a "left-wing bias".

Very sad that Annette, one of the orangutans of Jersey Zoo has passed away. Jersey Zoo might be my favourite place on Earth, and I used to love watching the orangs. I'm sure it was Annette who, when I worked there, one of the keepers told me about - when she arrived, there were concerns that...

call me a woke lefty liberal if you must, but I'm not sure my definition of "philanthropy" includes funding the continued existence of £5000 a term posh private schools.
Two of Guernsey's private schools have received an undisclosed, multi-million-pound 'gift' from a mystery benefactor.

For more than a century, Guernsey's government has financially supported Elizabeth College and The Ladies' College.

That is currently given as an annual grant - worth around £2.2 million.

Now, a philanthropist has offered what is described as a "once-in-a-generation" gift, which the colleges say will allow them to give up their States' grant.

It has not been revealed how much the gift is worth or who the philanthropist is.

However, any 'gift' is thought to be more than £40 million - enough to replace the government funding arrangement.

A black and white photograph, shot on film, of me.

I am a white cisgender man in his late 30s, with brown hair greying at the temples, tied back in a ponytail. I have a brown moustache and a small amount of stubble, and am showing the hint of a smile.

I am wearing a white T-shirt with a photo of Dolly Parton on it, circled by the words "DOLLY FOR PRESIDENT".

Out of focus behind me is the backdrop of a pub beer garden in summer.

getting a photograph taken with the daughter/niece of the artists your tattoo is a tribute to, taken by *her* son, at an evening celebrating the album in question, is a very peculiar experience. I have so much love for Marry and the entire Waterson-Carthy clan.

it's this bloke, who used to be a fairly regular source of "...and finally" stories with some pretty dubious claims. And I've just noticed that this story involves his business partner with the even better name Duncan Kettles.

and finally, because it's not just wrestlers that make a wrestling match: Al Saxon was a referee for Joint Promotions at the height of their pomp, and was the man in the middle for the final match ever broadcast on World of Sport in 1988. He officiated his final match last year, at the age of 92.

Ann Lake (pictured on the left with her sister Ruth, and on the right when photographed for the Portland Press Herald at 82) is believed to be the oldest living female wrestler at 92 or 93 years old. She believes that her and Ruth, who competed in the 1950s, may be the first female tag team.

Outside of active years, the longest surviving wrestler was probably Harry Elliott - a wrestler in the 1930s, and a referee and Washington-based promoter in the 1950s and '60s, he passed away in 2006, aged 101. The oldest living wrestler is likely Sammy Berg, aged 96.
