Health care is becoming less affordable, less accessible, and further out of reach for many, all while billionaires and big corporations rake in the profits. We're sick of it!! Last week, we joined @protectourcare.org for three stops on their nationwide tour (1/3)

Mary and her husband live in Bucks County, and they hoped to be retired, but he just had to take on a part time job - and it’s still getting harder and harder to make ends meet. Health insurance premiums are doubling, and other costs keep going up too! (1/3)

Prices are too high, wages are too low, health care costs are skyrocketing, and Americans are getting squeezed from every angle. Last week, we joined Mondays Without McCormick in Scranton, PA to put the pressure on Sen. McCormick and Rep. Bresnahan to take action on the #AffordabilityCrisis!

The average cost of center-based childcare in PA is $1,243/month, higher even than the national average. Child care is essential economic infrastructure! We need leaders, in Harrisburg and in D.C., who will fight for families. #ThePriceIsHigh firstfocus.org/update/the-b...

The Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit (WPTC) is a newer program that puts money back in the pockets of the people who need that support the most. This state tax credit is set at 10% of the federal EITC, so the max that a household in PA can get is $805. Which is impactful, but we could do better!

The price of everything on your plate really IS skyrocketing. Leaders should be fighting to lower food prices and expand programs that help families get by. Instead, Republicans in Congress cut SNAP, taking food assistance away from millions and raising grocery costs even more. #ThePriceIsHigh

Cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and the ACA are forcing people out of those life-saving program. Pennsylvanians like Arona are having to make decisions between healthcare and other necessities - like the car they need to get to work, housing, or groceries.

Navigating these rough seas of affordability is a crisis that we are all going through together right now. And I need Scott Perry to throw us that lifeline.”

Every dollar spent on wars, tax cuts for billionaires, and ICE violence is a dollar taken away from lowering costs, providing food assistance, funding schools, & protecting health care. Congress should be working to reverse funding cuts and deliver real relief to everyday people!
Text-heavy graphic, showing that Trump & Republicans in Congress have prioritized $4.5T in tax cuts for billionaires, $1B per day for the war in Iran, $70B for ICE & CBP violence, $1B for a gaudy white house ballroom. Below is a section titled "What's the cost? Life is harder and more expensive for Pennsylvanians:" with lists of higher prices and fewer services, such as Price of groceries going up 6.3%, energy bills up $363 per year, and the average monthly rent is $1,540. Fewer services include 5557,868 people losing healthcare, 9+ rural hospitals closing, and 52K jobs lost.
