Dead guys and bones are kinda my thing. I used to work on crime scenes for a central California police department, but left to take a job as a Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) for the International Criminal Court, working on war crimes investigations.

Because C. gilardii is a Gram-negative, aerobic microbe that is considered an opportunistic pathogen, primarily affecting immunocompromised individuals, the elderly, or patients undergoing invasive procedures and causing blood poisoning, pneumonia, septic shock, and catheter-related sepsis.

Because C. gilardii is a Gram-negative microbe widely found in soil and water, and metal-contaminated environments. It's an opportunistic pathogen, attacking the immunocompromised, the elderly, or patients undergoing invasive procedures. It can cause blood poisoning, pneumonia, and septic shock.

A Martian day runs longer than ours, so this machine has been grinding across all that for longer than most of us keep the same phone. Layered rock slabs scattered everywhere, hills aglow on the horizon; the sun hanging low and pale. Too bad nobody's standing there to see it. No one but Curiosity.

Toys can do marvelous things... I used to carry an Eeyore hand puppet around in my photo bag when I was a CSI - He's simple to work as a puppet, fits any kid-sized hand, and NOBODY's afraid of him. Let that kid play with him, or the intruding noisy sibling... then do what you must and the kid's OK.

Back in 2015, Hurricane Patricia was the most powerful tropical cyclone on record worldwide in terms of max sustained winds. Also the 2nd-most intense on record worldwide in terms of pressure, with a minimum atmospheric pressure of 872 mbar, just behind Typhoon Tip's 870 mbar. On this same path...

Um, not so fast...Yes, "Polo went from 90 mph to 160 mph in roughly 15 hours. "Parts of southwestern Mexico could see 4 to 8 inches of rain, with isolated amounts near 12 inches, bringing a serious threat of flash flooding and mudslides. BUT 5 is no longer the highest category.

Mrmbb333 STRONGEST STORM ON THE PLANET: POLO SOARS TO CATEGORY 5 Polo just reached the top of the scale. After being a tropical storm with winds of just 40 mph roughly a day and a half ago, Polo has strengthened into a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of 160 mph.

The whale was spotted in San Francisco Bay the day before it showed up a mile south of the Rio Vista Bridge. The Marine Mammal Center knows this one via 15 sightings over 24 years... Rio Vista's been here before, with Humphrey in 1985 and Delta and Dawn in 2007. Both of those stories ended well.

A whale in the Sacramento River! "A group of salmon anglers near Rio Vista were expecting a bite... What they got... was a humpback whale rising next to their 21-foot boat... 60 miles inland from the Pacific. One thought he was looking at a submarine. Video hit every NorCal feed within hours.

This infuriates me! "A Colorado DNA analyst deleted male DNA in 32 sexual assault cases, then reported none was found. She was just sentenced to 10 years... as Yvonne "Missy" Woods was handcuffed and led out, people whose cases ran through her lab shouted, "LIAR! LIAR! LIAR!"
