It's been a minute, but the hockey posting may return. Seattle Torrent inaugural game and I'm sporting my Izzie win Thunstrom jersey.

post a ship that's not star wars or star trek

Archangel from Gundam Seed Freedom

It's a large white ship with two pylons that extend forward and down at 45 degrees. The tower is above the center of mass and it has a pair of tail fins almost the same height as the ship itself. There is a red paint at the bottom of the ship.

So this person just caught a block. I think it's the fourth time they have unfollowed and refollowed with no meaningful interaction. Please don't abuse my notifications.

The only content warnings I can apply are sexual in nature, so CW: another newbie has decided he wants to be the main character. Block him and move on. Handle is big-b.bsky.social.

"Now see this is from my perspective. To me the trans ideology is more harmful than any drug, it's a danger to society as a whole and in particular children who are easily mislead and confused. It's my responsibility to say it's wrong and to disagree with it. They may hate me but I love them truly."

And here's the finish piece.

A magikarp model. It's female (It has shorter white whiskers). It's canon colors, but there's a subtle depth to them. Different parts of the fish have different surface finishes, the head is a high gloss, the body is a semi gloss. The whiskers are a matte white.

You can tell the white parts (eyes, fin webbing, whiskers) are shaded with blue. The scales on the body have darker orange where the scales all meet.

This isn't even "advanced" I was experimenting with preshading for the first time and am still very happy (and slightly horrified) by how realistic it feels in person.

A piece of a model, a dark, flat orange color.

Model parts for what is obviously a magikarp from pokemon. The bits that won't be exposed are still raw plastic, but a grey primer covers the exposed parts. Each part has a second color that is an high saturation at places where you'd get shadows. (This practice is known as pre shading)

The lips, throat and tongue of the magikarp model in various pinks and flesh tones. The shading from the previous step is very subtle after the top layer.

The face of magikarp, many details not yet attached. It's a bright orange, with a subtle darker shade around the eyes and the places the fins and whiskers will eventually attach.

I see someone woke today hoping to be the main character of the day. Definitely block and move on.

User Archangel Michael Flynn handle: tokerace.bsky.social posts:
"Saying 'Cis people view transition as a tragedy' is throwing a lot of allies under a bus. THAT's a tragedy.

Like I don't feel like that describes my view at all. I'm a lame white guy but one of my kids is LGBT and the other is neurodivergent. I've learned a lot, as have many people like me."

Anonymized user:
"if it doesn't apply to you, then job on. what's difficult about this?"

Michael:
"Do you take offense when someone's out there calling LGBT people pedo groomers? Or do you just jog on"

So I've fallen down the mechanical watch special interest hole. I could chatter for hours on the topic (my poor wife listens to me). But I just did an exciting thing: a fully custom watch. Picked the movement, the hands, the dial, the case, and the band. So here it is:

A mechanical wrist watch. The case is a nondescript silver color. The dial (face) is a translucent blue showing off a hint of the skeletonized movement underneath. It has lumed circles at the even numbered hours and lumed sector borders with points at the odd hours. There are no numbers.

The band is blue leather.

The hour and minute hands are lumed polished metal bars. The seconds hand is a long needle point with a tiny blue shark on the side opposite the pointer.

It slowly swims in circles through blue waters with various depths thanks to the combination of the blue dial and skeletonized movement.

So uh. . . y'all aware that your fancy vignette filter for blocking pictures leaves it _super visible_? @support.bsky.team (Firefox 114.0.1 on bsky.app page.)

Please ignore my dusty shelves, but some of my favorite poses I've done right here.

Here's a couple shots of them. The run included white, which I assume would look nicer with the full rgb, I just went with purple.

So only showing this half since I'm cleaning as I do the swap, but I got ceramic key caps and I kind of love their look and the cold touch adds to the keyboard's inherent stimmy qualities.

I don't know what I actually expected from bsky, but found this in my memes folder and realized this is it.
