I've written an hour of stand-up solely about horror movies. Planning to do some tiny warm-ups in October as work-in-progress then some actual dates early 2027. Any UK horror festivals or communities interested in the most niche stand-up set of the year, please do give me a shout x

Last night I played Dragontorc of Avalon on the Spectrum 48k for the first time in 40 years and the moment that endless tinny music kicked in I was transported to being an irritated 11 year old. #retrogaming

When I talk about deleted scenes from The Fly (1986), I usually talk about the Monkey Cat. Today, I've woken up obsessing about the Butterfly Baby ending. If you've never seen it, its a dream sequence in which Veronica dreams of a butterfly baby that hatches and flies towards a distant light...

So the 'abridged' version of It's a Wonderful Life on Prime literally cuts from George meeting the angel Clarence and asking him if he's got $8000 to George cheering in the street happy, making it look like the angel lent him eight grand to conclude the plot.

15 years ago, DVD & Blu-ray Review magazine called me a 'funny guy' before proceeding to trash my then-latest movie. I used the 'Pat Higgins is a funny guy' pull-quote for years, knowing it was the only positive sentence in the piece. Ah well, the magazine's long gone and I'm still hilarious.
