I've been unpopular at service jobs to the point and it probably cost me money. But I remember a couple dudes from the kitchen later telling me they thought about what I'd said. I got bullied relentlessly at my college job for saying those phrases. Even for just not laughing at the jokes.

This is a great thread for us hetero-presenting queer folks. Lots of imposter syndrome and repression, or in some cases like mine a period of sketchy exploration. Can never truly get my family (parents, sibling) to understand but also rarely feel the need to try.
