I abstained on the motion, but increasingly feel like the reaction shows this conversation had to be had, however painful it might be. Notably, the reaction from the Palestinian diaspora has been (afaict) universally positive, verging on jubilant, that finally an official body broke the taboo.

again, really hope working mathematicians put the pieces together and realize the fundamental threat from ai companies has little to do with transforming practices or modes of mentorship. they want a death grip on funding and employment in the discipline. it's what they want with everything
