Off to find an air gapped smartphone to figure this out.
Will parents and guardians be notified — and what should they do next?

The Treasury (or a trustee it assigns) will oversee and control each account until a parent or guardian claims it and assumes control.
They can do that through the Trump account mobile app. During that process, parents or guardians must verify their identity, confirm their relationship to the child, review their child’s information and accept the account terms, a Treasury spokesman said.

Already did. I am not finding any reports that JD Vance fired military officers. We know the SecDef has done it; the allegation the VP has done it is new and should be sourced.

"Post blocked"

after I replied to someone insisting Newsom's real signature is trolling Twitler and we need more of that; I wrote "We don't 'need more of that,' and please look at the veto message I posted. It's his signature. Mocking and trolling is not leadership."

Here’s an example. Same signature.
Veto message from California’s chief failson, vetoing a bill that would create an inspector general position in the Cal Public Utilities Commission, which is notoriously in the pocket of the entities they regulate.

30+ years ago, my college newspaper faculty advisor forced me to apologize for a column I wrote raising an alarm about Ralph Reed speaking on the floor of Congress. I have always regretted complying. 19 months ago, I retracted that apology.

The Elias Group shut it down with a cease and desist letter. 2/3
This investigation was originally developed for The New York Times, where it underwent eight months of editing, multiple rounds of fact-checking, and independent replication of the underlying methodology. The piece had a scheduled publication date when requests for comment were sent. It was only after the Times reached out to the subjects of the investigation for routine comment that the Elias Law Group, representing the DCCC and DSCC, sent a cease-and-desist letter demanding the paper not publish. Although the paper’s fact-checkers and legal department later cleared the piece before sending out a second round of requests for comment, the Times ultimately decided to kill the piece.

The piece was subsequently slated for publication at The Bulwark, where it underwent additional fact-checking, data verification, and legal review. When requests for comment were sent to the subjects of the investigation, lawyers representing the Progressive Turnout Project and Mothership Strategies likewise responded with legal letters demanding that the article not run.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, partially filmed in Monterey, California.
Screenshot of Wikipedia page for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. A photo of the Monterey Bay Aquarium captioned: “The Monterey Bay Aquarium, viewed from the back. The shallow area behind the rocks was turned into a whale tank via special effects; other changes included the addition of the San Francisco skyline in the background.[21]: 18
“

Excerpted text: “Much of the Cetacean Institute, Taylor's workplace, was created by using the real-life Monterey Bay Aquarium. A holding tank for the whales was added via special effects to the Aquarium's exterior. For close-ups of the characters as they watched the whales in the tank, the Aquarium's walls and railings were measured and replicated for a set on the Paramount parking lot. One scene takes place by a large glass through which observers view the whales—and Spock's initiation of a mind meld—underwater. Footage of the actors shot in front of them as they reacted to a brick wall in the Aquarium was combined with shots taken from their rear as”

Came across this 1937 news item yesterday. So many questions about this! Did Mrs. Anna Sears *really* not know her butler/chef was a woman in disguise? Who was "Alfred Grouard"? She didn't live with the Sears and I did not find anyone by that name in the 1930 U.S. census. #GenealogyMysteries
Screen shot of news item from 16 November 1937:

OYSTER BAY, N.Y., Nov 16 - Death today held the secret of why "Alfred Grouard," a woman, masqueraded for 14 years as a male butler and chef in the household of Joseph M. Sears, retired millionaire publisher.
Investigators were baffled by the lack of information about the woman's early life.
Sears, who said the discovery was an "amazing surprise," explained that his wife, the late Mrs. Anna Wentworth Caldwell Sears, had engaged the butler from a newspaper advertisement.
Fifteen fellow servants, kept at a distance by Alfred's air of austerity, also failed to pierce the deception. They knew only that the butler had been born in France and worked as a chef in a New York hotel before joining the Sears household.
Alfred, tall, about 55 and weighing 180 pounds, was regarded as a "perfect servant." In 13 years she never had asked for a day off.

This is the messaging that persuaded people. Maybe instead of trying the same thing again, the city could try something new, like asking developers to fund it. Other cities get new parks and facilities built by developers as a condition of approving projects. Why not EC?
A chart showing taxes passed in 2008, 2018, 2019, and 2024 to fund things citizens wanted and promises broken.
2008: tax to improve streets and sidewalks; index down by 20%
2018: real property transfer tax for services, including a senior center; no senior center and other services cut
2019: recreation tax to fund pool repairs and recreation services; city still struggling to pay for repairs
2024: fund public safety; city still struggling to pay for new fire engine and other fire safety equipment

Perfect summary of my life.
Four built in shelves: a cat curled up on a grey cushion on the bottom shelf. A row of books on the shelf above her, containing books about genealogy, trial guidelines, “Caste by Isabel Wilkerson,” and inclusive leadership. On the second shelf, a lemon-lime prayer plant, with two Supreme Court justice bobbleheads peeking out from behind (Souter and Brandeis). On the top shelf, a collection of old family photographs and a bowl of air plants.

One of my favorite books growing up was Jane’s Blanket, by Arthur Miller. So it seems appropriate that my Jane would ask me to make her baby blanket - first stitched 15 years ago - usable again. Strict instructions to preserve the worn edges.
