You are loved and you are supported. No matter what you're feeling or what you're navigating, there is always someone at the other end of the 988 Lifeline to provide support and compassionate care. If you or someone you love needs to speak to someone, call or text 988 at any time. 988lifeline.org

Republicans in Washington think ICE belongs in PA. They are sorely mistaken. I'm proud to stand united with my colleagues and our advocacy partners to send a clear message back: #ICEOut of PA.

Until consistent and comprehensive guardrails exist to regulate hyperscale data center development, I stand with my community in opposing data center development in our neighborhoods. Read my full statement below.
Senator Amanda Cappelletti Responds to Data Center Proposals in District 17. May 22, 2026 (page 1): "My team and I have heard from many of our neighbors across District 17 who have expressed deep concerns about proposed hyperscale data centers in and around our area. This includes eight proposed centers in Upper Merion Township, which would span more than four million square feet of land. Think about that, a bigger footprint than the Philadelphia airport.

Those proposals are up for public consideration at the Upper Merion Planning Commission’s meeting on May 27 at 7 p.m.

Whether you’re concerned about data centers’ impact on our collective quality of life, our public health, our environment, or our wallets as utility ratepayers, we can all agree: our communities are not fodder for ultra-wealthy developers’ hasty and unregulated attempts to turn a profit at our expense."Senator Amanda Cappelletti Responds to Data Center Proposals in District 17. May 22, 2026 (page 2): "To ensure the safety and wellbeing of every Pennsylvanian is upheld, our state legislature must act. Now is the time to implement consistent and comprehensive guardrails to regulate hyperscale data center development, ensure transparency and collaboration with the community throughout potential development, and protect our most basic rights to needs like clean air and water. Until the concept of regulating data centers becomes our reality, I stand with my community in opposing data center development in our neighborhoods."

To be clear: - 12,000 PA'ns that we know of go unhoused on any given day. - 1 in 8 PA'ns experience food insecurity. - Nearly 25% of PA'ns can't cover their energy bills. - Nearly 85,000 PA'ns have dropped health care coverage through Pennie due to rising costs. That number continues to grow.
This graphic is Senator Cappelletti's full statement on the SB1293 vote. The quote is:

"Our time on the Senate floor is valuable. Instead of ensuring our time is used wisely—moving bills that would actually make Pennsylvania more affordable, safe, and healthy—Senate Republicans are creating political theatre over their recycled bill that seeks to exclude transgender youth from sports.""It’s clear my Republican colleagues rather use their time and power to police young peoples’ bodies instead of addressing pressing crises like the rising costs of food and utilities, dwindling housing options, and stagnant, unlivable wages.

Today, I voted NO on Senate Bill 1293. I will continue to vote against any other deluded bills Senate Republicans try to put forth that harm our communities, and take our valuable time on the Senate floor away from creating real progress for Pennsylvanians."

🧵This week, Senate Republican leadership fast-tracked a bill that will give our state treasurer — who conveniently just announced her Republican gubernatorial candidacy — unlawful power to waive interest on budgetary impasse investment loans.
