In 2017 Universal wanted to start their cinematic "Dark Universe" with a Mummy movie. During the production I was chosen as background artist for a companion game, developed in just 8 months crunch. The movie wasn't just bad but considered worst movie of the year which destroyed the games sales.

I think in WhatsApp if you want to send a voice message you have to hold down a virtual button while talking on the phone which is only possible if you hold it in front of you. My guess is that this behavior bled to normal calls.

I requested an archive of my twitter account before deleting it and it says it might take more than 24 hours to create the zip file. I then proceeded to hold the page-down button on my profile and had almost the entirety of my posts loaded in less than a minute.

WiiU: Pikmin 3 The Zelda remakes Paper Mario Color Splash is a good entry if you like the series I think Starfox Zero is the 2nd best Starfox after the original. I am sure many people disagree PS3: Wipeout HD/Fury is the best futuristic racing game Ico Ratchet & Clank Future series Ridge Racer 7

Playing Link's Awakening on the Switch for the first time. Did you know that it was released in 2019 and 2019 is 7 years ago? Although I felt there was a good game at its core, I never enjoyed the original because of the hardware limitations. This is a remake that makes sense to me.

I have an Xbox and not a Playstation but I also do seem to remember that "weird" games have a tougher time on there even when considering the lower install base. There was a time when things were different.

Going through the trailers of opening night of Gamescom and after the Lofsöng trailer Keighley says that it is "made right here in Europe" as if it was a neighborhood or something. Typical American!

Playing Assassin's Creed Mirage. It is a welcome step back towards an detective action adventure instead of a loot and stats based game but it doesn't go far enough. And the animations are worse than in the first game of the series. Why does Basim not use his arm to not bump into other people???

I'd argue that if you want to see what Kojima has always been aiming for, you look at MGS5 and Death Stranding the latter of which puts more effort into photorealism than Horizon Zero Dawn on the same engine.

I do not think the aim with MGS3 was for it to look painterly. I think the PS2 had 4KB of texture cache or something and could only realistically use 8-bit paletted textures so in order to avoid visible dithering or comic-like color jumps btwn materials, they made MGS2 and 3 close to monochromatic.

He either has a very flat understanding of the human condition which I am not convinced of, or he doesn't trust his audience to process more than he is usually giving them. Which is fine for Tokyo Drift but his movies have a veneer of intellect which feels hypocritical to me.

My problem with all of his movies is that there is never any subtext and the characters don't lie to themselves. You never wonder what someone is thinking because they will explicitely say so unless they conciously pretend. As such his characters are more plot pushing machines than humans.

They don't buy consumer components at least when it comes to nVidia. nVidia/AMD diverted the production to data center components because they make more money. They even present server racks at "Consumer Electronics Expo". The hardware is unusable for games and will end in land fills in three years.

There are some nice things in the Halo remake and lots of disappointment. The thing that will make me forget about this version after I am through though is the audio mix. Without a composer who has the standing in the company to push for a mix that lets the music breathe the game loses its epicness

Mirroring the screen. Being able to change the color of the dog on the push of a button. Getting an achievement if you use the item for an hour even if it does nothing. Putting a pink bow on the dog and introducing Pacman sounds. A fairy that flies around you and says "hey listen" to the beat.

In Peggle machst du eine interessante Entscheidung alle paar Sekunden oder spätestens Minuten. In einem Spiel wie Diablo machst du höchstens nach einer halben Stunde eine interessante Entscheidung und der Rest ist Arbeit.

I lost a friend to this. He considers himself an anti-capitalist but pays for AI and has "hours long discussions" with it, like real talking. He sent a link about "Spec Driven Development", I wrote back that those are snake oil salesmen who can't prove anything they claim. He stopped talking to me.

Back in 2013 I bought a physical copy of Tomb Raider and it only had a download code for Steam in it. I complained in forums and even back then PC players mostly didn't care. I'd like to know the difference in psychology behind PC players not caring about discs when console players do.

That's a different thing. On Xbox you turn the console on and you can resume one of the approximately last five games you played in three seconds. This has nothing to do with saves as the game understands them or the cloud. It is like returning from standby but for five games instead of one.

I like specific moments of Blade Runner. My biggest disconnect is that Deckard is presented as a hard boiled cool detective but is in fact incompetent, fails left and right and only survives because they repeatedly spare him. The book acknowledges this, the film doesn't want to?
