“Guys, they want us to go home.” 🔥 🇫🇷 French short film about what would happen to society if all the immigrants listened to angry old racist white men and left (aka the Republican agenda)

My 11yo son understands Entomology. It is the study of insects. I think you've provided the point that Americans can't be trusted, especially when it comes to understanding basic things like words.

Cake hardens with age. Biscuits soften. A prime Hobnob is hard and crisp. A Hobnob is no more a tiny cake than an entrée is a main course. If you tolerate this, then your maps will be next....

I tried with a pinhole at different lengths and it didn't even register. I think a colander is the best bet. It also gives you a stable set distance between the holes and paper.

I have cyanotype paper i will experiment with it now, but I doubt you will be able to get a clear image. I will try with a colander first.

A little reminder. Don't look directly at the sun as it can cause serious damage to your eyes. If you are accompanying someone with a cognitive impairment, please look out for them as they may not understand the consequences of their actions.
Elderly, infirm man, pointing and defiantly staring straight at the sun during an eclipse, despite being advised not to.

The eclipse on Wednesday is going to look amazing. I went out for a recce yesterday to find a good viewing point. This is the view from Hammersmith Bridge at the exact time of day that the eclipse will occur and the next image is a mock-up of how it will look.

He's done so much harm for a marginal and ultimately futile gain. A disgustingly selfish narcissist, with an empty shell of a soul, trying to persuade the daytime demographic through cosplay empathy that he deserves to be in high office. Terrible man.

I emailed invites to an event, got the date right, but the day wrong. I followed up with a correction email stating the correct combo and it got around 3x more opens. I made a joke about forward planning as the next time the combination occurred was 2031. A marketer thought I did it on purpose.

There are, in my view, 25 things everyone needs to understand in light of recent events: 1) Those out in our communities last night were not protestors, but organised far right extremists. 2) Their actions align with fascist ideologies. 3) So yes: these are fascist practices on our streets. 🧵

Spot on. The origin myth was made up. It was inspired by East Asian kê-tsiap, replicating it by fermenting anchovies to create a modern equivalent to Roman garum. In Italy, the direct lineage survived as Colatura di Alici. Two different paths to the exact same liquid umami from glutamate!

Wondering whether anything I did early in my career had any wider impact, I looked up a project I initiated 25+ years ago. To my surprise, David Goodhart, founding editor of Prospect, described it as “one of the oddest marketing stunts in publishing history.” So that's something.

Thank you. It was found on Bracklesham Bay, UK, in the Earnley Sand Formation, which probably means it is 46 myo. I found another one a few years ago, that was more complete. I'll try and find a photo of it. Are there any online resources to help ID them?
