This ridiculous number of applications is, in my view, the result of 2 nightmare developments happening concurrently 1.the precariousness of the job market for young PhD graduates which then fuels further: 2.the AI tools enabling overproduction of proposals. #Research #ERC #ResearchFunding #Academia
Just a screenshot with an EU logo saying that the 2026 call has attracted considerable interest from the research community with 21,627 applications submitted.

We found that in Remapping, habit errors declined with preparation time ⌛ In Outcome Devaluation, habitual responses were confounded by a withholding bias and inaccurate outcome knowledge 🤔 Thanks to @clairegillan.bsky.social @stephsuddell.bsky.social @gurcelay.bsky.social @eikekofi.bsky.social 🙌

For many Iranian students, Neuromatch was one of the few bridges to the international neuroscience community. Iranian students and TAs have contributed so much to it. Many of us, including me, found neuroscience through Neuromatch. This decision by Trump’s gov is cruel, unjust and a loss for science

Makes perfect sense! so responses here can be a consequence of failure of contingency detection rather than the dissociation of the response from its outcome representation (similar to our findings about reduced S–O knowledge leading to habit-like responses rather than action slips) 💡
