Today marks 11 years since Laura and I revisited Orford Castle in Suffolk. Although we'd both been there previously, neither of us expected that day's visit to lead to a series of discoveries, follow-up investigations, and even an unexpected response from English Heritage.

An historical source reported an evil spirit had been exorcised at Chilton, near Sudbury and, imprisoned within a bottle before being thrown into a pond behind the village church. Over 160 years later, there was just one problem. Nobody seemed to know where the pond had actually been. (1/2)

Moments before this photo was taken inside the upper level of Landguard Fort, Laura entered the adjoining bathroom of Fire Officers’ Quarters F7 & was immediately told, very loudly, to “Fuck off” by what she described as a male voice. The reaction you can see in the image was captured seconds later

I saw this beginning to trend earlier today, so thought I'd give it a try - asking AI to write an unhinged unbio, just for fun. Laura believes she doesn't have enough online presence for one. I did one for her anyway and, a dual one, for us both. I was expecting far worse, I was disappointed.

The inner circle of Harwich Redoubt Fort, Harwich, Essex, United Kingdom.

Sitting on the other side of the river to Landguard Fort, guarding the Stour / Orwell Estuary in 1808 to help defend the neighbouring counties of Essex and Suffolk from Napoleonic Invasion, it's much smaller than it's Suffolk counterpart but no less important.

During our visit, Laura only sensed 'activity' in one of the rooms you can see here, interestingly, the one I suddenly got a severe headache which only cleared when we left the room.

Was this connected?

Laura felt this was one of those locations that would have an entirely different atmosphere at night. We both vowed to return in the future, at some point, during the evening.
