The most accursed Parafilm fact is that the M on the box is almost identical to one written in bold italicised Comic Sans

Hey, are you really old? Then you might remember that time the governor of Wisconsin wanted to make Parafilm exclusive to the state's farmers, because Wisconsin is a parody of itself when it comes to cheese

research to improve existing products and, hopefully, to find new ones.
By 1936 the company had begun production of parafilm, a rubber-coated cellophane wrapping paper for cheese. Governor Philip La Follette in 1936 wanted the State Department of Agriculture to buy the patent rights and thus give Wisconsin farmers sole access to the parafilm. The signing of a contract with the Borden Company in 1936 cancelled the Governor’s plan. By March of 1937 there were sixty-eight applications from foreign agents for parafilm rights outside the United States."
