I spent probably just over $100 total on Furlandia this year. and that's including meals, lodging, registration, travel, parking, etc.

I just remembered that I exist in people's minds when I'm not around them, and each person has their own perception of me based around what I act like when I'm around them... anyway get that perception out of your mind, I'm nothing like that. I'm so much .... deeper and more nuanced? maybe? idk.

went up to Seattle for Furswap, which is a furry flea market type thing, and I realized pretty quickly that I don't know anyone in Seattle... and I'm shy.

hot take, but if you don't want to work (or can't for some reason) I don't think you should just die.

socialism really is the only way forward. because what do you mean you have to pay a subscription to life? just the act of existing puts money in pockets that don't benefit you. have a chronic illness? ooh, guess what. subscription. want to live in a house? you guessed it. 5 different subscriptions.

What if @wikipedia.org was a pony? Art by Taliscat, released under CC-BY-SA 4.0! Her name is Wiki Hooves 😌

rogie, if you make under 90k a year you can get it filed for free. do you need help with your taxes?

I was able to write off 430+ dollars on my tax return this year by volunteering at furry cons.

y'know what? I don't give myself enough credit. I've gotten a lot better at seeing red flags in people. where I fall short is when they're hot.

any discussion of city transit improvement online ever

the "the myth of consensual sex" meme where it's a couple saying they consent but then jesus is off to the side saying he does't, but it's been changed so it says
"the myth of consensual urban transit planning"
And the couple is labeled "city dwellers"
the man is saying "we should make it easier to not drive here"
The woman is saying "like building bike lanes or adding bus routs."
And Jesus has been replaced with clip art of a farmer, labeled "someone who lives 1000 miles away and has no involvement whatsoever." and is saying "Stop trying to take my car away I will kill you"
text at the bottom still says "isn't there somebody you forgot to ask?"

calling it "real ID" if some of them don't work as an ID in other situations is kinda dumb. I went to try to get my EDL but they said my TWIC wasn't a valid photo ID. even though it's a "real ID" and has my photo.

So we all know by now that the 12 days of Christmas song is all just birds... a stupid amount of birds at that, but it's actually not all birds. You're also given an entire orchard of pear trees to go with your partridges.

160

Ellie @paperr.dev · 07/12/2025

still definitely considering it though

I have no idea what I'd get up to. and with work I could probably only get away with doing a week in Japan... I also don't think I know anyone there so I'd just be going alone.

Turns out in January and February flights to Japan are really cheap. Less than $500 for a round trip. I could totally afford that...
