Plenty to reflect about re: the Arday affair, but I'm going to repeat this one thing. The playbook the right used here is effective even though it's not especially sophisticated, as it relies on the audience to do the dirty work. I've been calling it "Trojan horse propaganda", let's go with that. 1/

something beautiful, from @panthealee.bsky.social: "Together, we built a small altar. As it grew, I realized almost every object pointed toward another person. A mother. A father. A friend. A teacher. A grandparent. Childhood companions. Ancestors." panthealee.substack.com/p/rooting-on...

“don’t move back to Taiwan. this country will break your heart.” three years ago, a friend said those words to me. two years ago, i moved back anyway. on returning home, learning what it means to stay, and loving a place whose future cannot be guaranteed. panthealee.substack.com/p/rooting-on...

Wow. @panthealee.bsky.social “i owe something to you because we are bound” - looking at climate negotiations, mutual aid, finding solutions and acknowledging how far the global minority has to go to achieve justice & care in the face of climate destruction
Hear me out: When we look honestly at the state of the world, it's hard not to feel crushed. Many of us channel our grief and rage into structural work: building alternatives, organizing resistance, loving and tending to each other as best we can. But our ability to do so is shaped by the contexts in which we find ourselves: the freedom to protest, the resources
to build, the degree to which communities must overcompensate for systems that neither love nor tend to us, these are all hugely uneven.
Those living in wealthy nations, even if they oppose the violence carried out in their name, still benefit from their governments' pillage. And even when they protest, too little changes too slowly. The systems of extraction are global, but our pathways for repair are not.

my recent time in Laos rearranged something deep inside me. i’m still making sense of it and what it might be asking of us. here is one humble attempt... on war’s long tail. on holding each other’s pain. on healing as communion. on Ambedkarite Buddhism. on seeing & moving as one:

This is a quiet, humble, reflective manifesto, but it is a manifesto nonetheless "What we needed was not more education, but more spaces for witnessing. For presence. For turning toward and tending to each other." Bravo @panthealee.bsky.social panthealee.substack.com/p/what-softn...

I am still dumbfounded that they made a war crime group chat on a civilian messaging service and invited a reporter to it. it's like there's no bar they can't slither under.
