btw I also got some prints of the original star stag and some other digital work made up! It's been a bit hectic lately with an exhibition deadline and whipping up ceramic work for market prep so I've been slowly chipping away at documenting and uploading stuff to the online store.

A work in progress featuring a black clay ceramic creature with a long tail and single white horn. White underglaze brushed over it is being carved away to shape its eyes, stripes, and other markings. It rests on foot on top of a log.

The past week has been busy with some deadlines but finally got around to taking some photos of these star stag tote bags locally printed by the fantastic Resonance Printing! These are available via my online store ( miholics-shop.ca / link in bio )

An off white tote back featuring a black ink illustration featuring a bounding stag, the ends of its antlers taking on the shape of stars. Another star sits above its head, more stars surrounding the deer. Many simple little drawings in a rock art style with more star horned stags are by the upper left and bottom right of the animal. Floral motifs with the flowers taking on a heart shape surround them and the illustration is framed by simple patterned borders. Wild grape leaves frame the bag.

I've been feeling so tired and disappointed with my work and frustrated with how long it takes to create it. I feel like I'm not on par with others and I possibly won't be able to make art as a living with how bad things are getting economically as well.

in person you can see this tile actually has a pillow shape about 2" high - it allows space for me to add mounting loops on the back while distributing stress that can lead to cracking or warping in flat forms

It's really neat!! The texture is also akin to a marshmallow! Next we wanna try a fake fish recipe with a soy/seaweed type marinade and score the slices to ride off the soft texture and mimick soft and flakey fish meat

i forgot I've drawn spinosaurus mirabilis back in july, this now belongs to a lucky customer who placed an order to my store ^^

yellow underglaze and sat on it for a while before cooking up this design and doing an AR app transfer to get the rough form and outline down then blocked it in with white underglaze! :)

For this tile in particular I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do so ran it through bisque with the white slip only. I either use xerox transfer paper or an AR drawing app to "project" the sketch. I originally did a xerox transfer but wasn't happy with it / unrelated design so covered it with -

oh no worries at all I'm always happy to go over the process for people! and you are correct in that being my standard process! There is a small difference however, I like to use a base later of white slip since it's cheaper to get a clean background (on red clay) before going in with underglaze.
