My personal daily challenge for this month will be „Sort-ober“, where I‘ll deep-sort at least 100 sketches a day to finally have them as reference for working on more coherent story planning at a later date. Have I sorted anything til yesterday? No. So I guess 200 sketches a day it is for now.

Like, normally I never *really* fill a sketchbook completely, there‘s always gaps on some pages. Idk if it has to do with the friction of the pen on the kraft paper that makes me draw quicker/more relaxed, so I get more done or smth. I also think the whole color/texture fits the vibes of my OCs.

Quick comic I also did in the waiting room (was there for more than 2 hours and feel even sicker than before, end me). Klausbert always tries to make his employees get along, but Manf and Draf Gracula just aren‘t gonna be buddies it seems 😔

In the first panel, Manfred is reaching his hand out towards the bird, offering seeds to him. He‘s shielding his face with his other hand, exclaiming „He‘s gonna pick my eyes out! HE‘S GONNA PICK MY EYES OUT!“ with a panicked expression. Klausbert is standing behind him, giving a thumbs up, saying „Don‘t worry, min jung! I have a spare patch somewhere!“.

In the second panel, Draf Gracula is jumping onto Manfred‘s arm, to both his and Klausbert‘s surprise.

In the third panel, Draf Gracula starts flying, leaving feces on Manfred‘s arm. Klausbert is shocked, Manfred pissed.

Ernie pretends to be a horror movie fan as well, but he‘s in fact the first to shit his pants and wanting it to end. What he actually wants out of the movies is to have a passion to share with Eddie. And feel connected to his mother (Eddie‘s aunt) in a way, cause she loved horror too after all.

Eddie‘s fave are also horror movies, from all decades and sub-genres. His aunt took him to his very first movie, which was in fact horror, at the ripe age of 7 and he‘s been hooked ever since. It was/still is the music that has the most impact on him. It’s also a huge inspiration for his own music.

There‘s like little secret underground cinemas in his city he likes to go to, that show such movies. The thrill of going there and getting to see such rarities is probably what he loves the most about them. But what he‘s also really impressed by is the creativity of the cinematographers back then.

Hellmuth loves animated movies, he‘s such a colors, whimsy and adventure guy. What he also loves is obscure, mostly horror movies from the early days of filmmaking. Like, stuff that nowadays would make the lost media enthusiasts lose their marbles if they could lay their eyes upon it.

As little as Manf would like to admit it, he is/was a sucker for cheesy classic romance movies. Not for the stories per se, but for mentally indulging himself in the intimacy, comfort and (somewhat) unconditional love that was portrayed. He lacked those things in real life growing up big time.

Grigo knows how to swim, but would rather call it a survival skill than an activity he enjoys doing for the funsies. More of a chilling and floating in the waters kinda guy. Would rarely say no to his friends inviting him for a swim, as long as they‘re not making a competition out of it.

Manf doesn’t for the longest time. His mother didn’t want him to be able to and he never really saw a need to personally. He will however change his mind in his early 30s, both to motivate his daughter to learn it too and to be able to help her in case she gets in danger when in the waters.
