Hien for the FFXIV playing card deck today. One of my favourite character designs, hope I did him justice. #FFXIV

Themis & Erichthonios screenshot-redraws that kinda match 🤍🧡 #shmiart #FFXIV #FFXIVART

Screenshot reward of Themis from XIV in one of the Pandaemonium cutscenes! Looking up with a serious expression from where he was knelt on the floor

Screenshot reward of Erichthonios from XIV in one of the Pandaemonium cutscenes! Eirch look up with determination and a splash of anxiety at Hesperos as his scheme unfolds.

It's new newsletter day! Closing out 2024 with a story I've been keeping tabs on all year: the ludicrously difficult challenge of resurrecting Japan's ultimate '00s mobile game, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII

readonlymemo.com

The Before Crisis crisis: How hackers are rebuilding the lost Final Fantasy VII mobile game piece by tiny piece

Plus RPCS3 turning a Raspberry Pi 5 into a PSP-esque PS3, a new feature for the Sega Saturn MiSTer core, and some fan translations due in 2025.

Genuinely blows my mind that there are FANS who are trying to restore Before Crisis for FREE and Square Enix is still like "Hmmmm yeah we're not sure if there's a demand for this game 🤷‍♂️".

More #FFVII wintermas themed fanart, extremely silly, you've been warned.

FFVII fanart with a winter holiday theme. In the foreground Reeve and a cat that might secretly be a robot sit not looking at the disaster behind them where Cait Sith knocks over a massive decorated tree onto Scarlet and Palmer. Heidegger is in the far background looking over his shoulder with a ? over his head.

Googling Stuff: Then v Now.

This title if the comic is ‘Googling Stuff…’
The comic shows two columns: on the left is “Then” showing search results with one thing listed as “the thing you want”

On the right column is ‘Now’ - also showing search results but in this case it’s a whole bunch of stuff you don’t need:

I love that Joshua is so intent on his goals he just casually drops bombshells on people. Doesn't ever explain his plan to Jote until she asks. Offhandedly mentions the sealing-Ultima-inside-his-heart business in front of Clive. Completely ignores the surprise and shock his words have caused.

I may not turn on #FinalFantasyXVI that often, but when I do, I take pictures of Jote for twenty minutes before closing the game without doing whatever I turned it on for in the first place. #virtualphotography #ThePhotoMode #FinalFantasyPhotoFeed #VPinBlackandWhite

I knew that the chances of me finding a husband irl were low but now that I've "met" Haurchefant, I know the chances of anyone living up to him will be impossible.

I want to finish the MSQs but I also want to level up my rogue to lvl 30 at least to unlock Ninja. Argh so much to do!

I finished FF14 A Realm Reborn! Thank goodness I can fly now, I was impatient at earlier points during the game and just jumping off cliffs, taking fall damage for the efficiency hahah

Every time I see the title of the game "Pioneers of Pagonia" my brain inserts an extra t and a so I think it says "Pioneers of Patagonia"...which would be a very different game

For the Princess and the Dragon trope I've seen "but the Princess and Dragon become best friends" but not the Dion-inspired one of "but the Princess *is* the Dragon" which I now need.
