_The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T_ had a fleeting mention in @ethaniversonpiano.bsky.social's news blast today. I had never heard of it. After watching it, I can confidently say that it is obviously the greatest film in cinema history. I don't know why you all have been hiding it from me my entire life.

My favorite part of _Neil Peart: No Man's Disciple_ is Danny Carey and Chad Smith talking back to back (and with good humor) about how much harder it is to drum at 64 than at 30. Smith describes backstage after an RHCP show as looking like "an infirmary".

Came across an old-timey coffee shop (closed) with counter seats that had a design similar to the one on Eh! Steve!'s body.

The Eh! Steve! character from Homestar Runner.

Counter seat with a design similar to that at the bottom of Eh! Steve!'s body.

My step brother had a cardiac arrest last week and now suffers brain damage. His recovery will not be short, and might not ever be complete. If anyone has a few bucks to spare to help pay his bills, that would be fantastic and much appreciated. Goal is almost hit! gofund.me/2840bca26

I've been playing the opening riff from "Angry Young Man" for 30 years. Just now, I'm transcribing Billy Joel playing it during his interview with Rick Beato and am realizing that I have been playing it wrong the whole time.

TIL that "You Are My Sunshine" was made the Louisiana state song to honor segregationist governor Jimmie Davis, who (along with a collaborator) published and copyrighted the song a few years before his first gubernatorial term.

An image of a "nutrition pyramid" type illustration titled "Munster Food Groups." The pyramid is divided into 4 rows fulla different scary, scary monsters. From the top, it goes: ghosts, werewolves, zombies, vampires, pirates, dragons (Trogdor), sea monsters, aliens, Marshie, and robots.

I was too much of a prog and fusion snob to get into Tears for Fears when they were having hits in the 1980s. Decades later, I learned this tune while playing bass in an '80s band and was blown away by the simple yet sophisticated and highly effective songwriting. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mk2p...
