Done a while lot of sanding to get the sphere ready for puttying, and get one of the halves done but I'll leave it overnight to fully cure before sanding back. I've also added the steel pins but I'm not happy with them, unfortunately I've also stripped one of the screw heads so gotta get a new one.

Melted all the the brass inserts into their holes and got the screws for the ball. 3d printer is still out of commission as I need to replace parts that are completely screwed, but that's a future me problem.

Decided to get my wood burning tool out and melt down and flatten the welds. This should hopefully strengthen any bonds plus add some more gap filling. And a fan running constantly but can still smell the fumes.

Heard about fusion welding using 3d filament and a rotary tool (aka a dremel), and tried... it kinda sucked seeing as I can do the same thing with my 3d pen. It's going to be sanded anyway so I did care about being clean, just gap filling and trying to strengthen the bond as much as possible.

Inside one half of a large 3d printed ball, with a lot of bad weld lines that'll be cleaned up all a later date.

Finished gluing up the top hemisphere of the bottom globe. Got to a lot more work to go but glad I got it this far.

Urgh, got it taken apart thanks to a heat gun (not pictured) but I cooked the cooling fan at the same time. Gonna have to take the entire assembly off to properly clean these parts, but might just replace then (there are some other parts that are getting a bit long in the tooth too).

Screwed up the top hemisphere but learnt enough to build the bottom hemisphere relatively less terribly. Reprinting the parts I need to remake the top but I'm happy with how it's progressing.

Progress on one of my current projects... I think I've got at least three things going on? Oh well, this one involves a lot of editing on printing. It might work or it might turn into a complete cluster fuck.

Finally printed with no* failures my giant sized Trans Queerple, DVD of Doom signed by Karl Urban for scale. *one major blemish for some reason but I'm not reprinting this thing again unless I'm being paid.

Had a great game of pool today. I broke and didn't sink anything and neither did my client. I then saw an opportunity to get two balls, one after the other, and I just keep getting good enough shot lined up, ended up with six in a row. Next shot got the seventh, then I got stuck on the black 😆

My work is currently being displayed at the City of Bayswater Art Competition 2026. I went to the opening night but my anxiety got the better of me and I left.

Artist statement of my photo.

"Over a period of a month, I documented how many times throughout that I broke down emotionally due to trauma from the emotional and mental abuse I had endured. These happened throughout the day, often when I was alone, and these images became part of a book I wrote about my trauma. I stared to experiment by taking one image dream each day and combining them together, the final result became this image."

My current chainmail wire turning rig to make rings (the green spring looking things). It definitely needs some upgrades... and put on a higher table.
