Today was a good day! Ran a 10k with my friends, then showered to be the Designated Artsy Aunt for my niece’s birthday! 💕 My husband made the sweetest sign for the 10k today and his voice was hoarse from shouting kind words at people.

I couldn’t help but seeing Kehinde Wiley’s “Bound” in the way that Doechii’s hair was connected with her dancers’ hair at her Colbert performance.

I’m a big old nerd. I love to read, play video games, dress up in silly costumes, read fantasy and sci-fi. I collect copies of Alice in Wonderland and own over 90 versions in various languages from all over the world.

Paige is dressed in costume and is wearing a headband with tons of monarch butterflies on it. Her make up is brightly done. She wears a black gown with a cape meant to look like monarch butterfly wings.

My great grandparents immigrated to America in the early 1900’s from Sweden and Italy. We are still part of the org that helped Swedes assimilate to US culture, but later because a preserver of our culture. I love and welcome immigrants because we don’t close the door on others behind us.

I grew up in Arizona and love my home state dearly. The Sonoran desert is incredible and I could geek out about it all day long. I’m thankful for the Tribes and the impact their culture has had on me.

I am a Christian and that ultimately is the driving force in my life. I believe that God calls us to live life with care and compassion for our neighbors and world, and to fight against wickedness, oppression, violence, and greed.
