Today I ran 20 miles (32 km)! My right knee has been bugging me forever, so I'm taking this as a victory. Marathon in a few weeks! 🫨

It's a screenshot showing that I ran 20 mi. My average heart rate was 141 beats per minute, my average pace was 9 minutes and 34 seconds per mile. My total time was 3 hours, 11 minutes and 32 seconds that I will never get back no matter how I try. I burned 2,347 calories but I gained them all back when I came home and drank beer.

On my trip home, I stopped in the city where I grew up I've always been the guy that liked to treat his friends. What good is money, you know? Anyway, back in the days of yore, I loved to take my people to a local pizza place. I've been craving it, but my memory is decades old. Today. Well. Meh.🍕🤷‍♂️

A very middle-of-the-road pizza. Dough is homemade and pretty good. Sauce decent. Toppings average. Definitely undercooked in the center. A little bit of cheese on the top would have been both tasty as well as functioned as a topping holder. Ah well, such is the fallibility of memory.

Look, I'm a scientist, not a photographer, but I really liked these. Taken at sunset last night: 🕸️🕷️☀️🌿

It's a circular-ish spider web. Sun shines through from the back, illuminating the delicate strands.

"Did you say you were gonna study chemistry in college?" The voice came from, Brian, the guy washing dishes at the big industrial sink.

"No. Chemistry is for romantics. I'm going to study physics, which is for the thinking man." I laughed aloud.

Brian did not turn to face me. He sprayed a large, stainless steel pan. "Right, physics. Nerd stuff. What are you going to do with that?"

"Probably get into cosmology."

"What, like make-up and hair?" The sprayer stopped.

"No, not cosmetology. Cosmology is the mathematical study of the universe. Space and time."

"Whatever, man. I'm going to be an electrician. Turn up the radio, I like this one."
