The three children of Henry Sacheverell d1625 are shown in beautiful detail on the base of his monument at Holy Trinity, Ratcliffe-on-Soar. Sadly a son and daughter died young and are shown swaddled, the other daughter survived, married well but he disapproved and cut her off! #MonumentsMonday

The 6th century Caldey Stone at St Illtyd's Church on Caldey Island in Pembrokeshire. The stone is inscribed in Ogham in memory of Maglia Dubracunas, with a later 9th century Latin inscription seeking prayers for the soul of Catuocunus. 📸 My own. #EpigraphyTuesday #CaldeyStone
