I've managed to add Saoirse to my Art Fight lineup (because of course I've got to add new characters instead of making better refs of the ones already listed). #ocsky #characterart

Saoirse is a woman with red hair and blue eyes, depicted holding a crossbow and torch while wearing leather arm guards and an amber bead necklace.

Saoirse's (mostly) full body reference also includes her belts, pants, and the tops of her boots.

Messing with Haek's markings/colors. Again. Trying to keep the patchy intent with a little less continuity torture. :p #ocsky

Haek is a member of my homebrew amphibious alien species that's humanoid but a little to the left. He has a mix of blue, green, and pink patched skin with long, long silvery hair and pale eyes. The markings are supposed to mess with his expressions a bit to make him look more stern.

I tried oil painting for the first time. Gravity+dyspraxia decided to remind me why I use acrylics. This poor thing tumbled off my easel four times. FOUR. And trying to get a shot of the paint on my leg was awkwardsauce. Bonus soda can scale and Princess Elora's cameo.

The first progress picture I took was before gravity decided it had beef with this painting. On the right side is some round gold shapes that don't look like a clock yet, and on the left is most of a woman's face. It's basic but the proportions are fairly good.

The second progress shot is after two rounds of repairs as well as the actual progress.

On the right, the clock is taking shape against a fabric-like backdrop. On the left, the woman is recognizable as Sara from the Labyrinth movie because of her distinctive gown and hair, but her mouth and cheek are a bit worse for wear.

After the latest loss to the vagaries of physics, the same dang side of Sara's face is smeared again, as well as the fabric backdrop, and this time her mouth hasn't even had a chance to be repaired yet.

Lastly, a bonus shot with my leg propped up near the painting, because not only did the painting fall squarely on my shin, but I'm wearing black jeans and spider socks.

The painting is super glossy and you can definitely tell that it's wet paint.

Bonus soda can that's about the same height as Sara's head.

There's a tuxedo cat under the easel. Princess Elora is glancing over her shoulder to figure out what nonsense I'm up to.

I doodled a rough gothic church and added some blue shadow and yellow contrast.

After stenciling some frame shapes I filled some of them with tiny paintings of plants and squiggles, a landscape, and a very orange (oops) lady in a green dress.

BEHOLD.... MY STUFF! QRT with yours! Picking four was hard. lol #art #ocs #fanart

A fanart of Astarion from Balder's Gate 3, lounging in a gothic chair and holding the knife of the undermountain king.

An uncolored lineart of four of my original characters goofing around. Haek is picking up Khaden over his shoulder while Geo is clinging to Haek's back and Roman is standing aside looking amused at the mayhem. They're all in a poly-ship.

Khaden, colored with blue skin and black skin markings, wearing his red dancing garb and glancing back over his shoulder, with gold fans in his hands.

Kul, an orc with green skin and shoulder-length brown hair and a bulky, muscular build, clean shaven and with no body hair because I'm a coward. Someday I will do his shaggy and hairy version.

Room for improvement, but that's what re-draws are for. Court-version Prince Florian (third son, extra spare, feeling guilty for turning down a strategic marriage) vs. a year later, before the reality check/gut punch that the elven kingdom/court isn't done with him yet and he has to go BACK. #oc

On the left side, Florian is wearing his formal whites, which I didn't realize until partway through that I hadn't actually PLANNED besides being formal. And white. His long auburn hair is reasonably tidy but still trying to escape with some loose curls and he's wearing a silver circlet with a blue gem. His posture is very straight but a bit timid and his expression is uncertain.

On the right side, Florian is wearing a basic peasant shirt with the sleeves shoved up to his elbows and the front open all the way down to his blue sash and brown pants. His posture is relaxed, with one hand cocked on his hip, and his hair is windblown. He's actually smiling. He's not wearing any jewelry but the silver ring through his nostril, which is actually his wedding/bonding band.

I posted a version of this already, but I tweaked things to clarify my point and added quotes from a post from Bluesky's admin. Coerced consent is non-consent. Banning topics is censorship. Enforced silence is violence. Toxic positivity saves no one. #bskycensorship #bsky #fuckcensorship

The character Helen A from classic Doctor Who with her neon orange/red eighties hair and red velvet outfit sits at a pink desk, smiling. At her elbow is a pink mug that reads "we *heart* consent" in serial killer whimsy lettering.

Behind her, "I protest" is repeatedly scribbled across a blue backdrop, but every "protest" is crossed out with pink and replaced with "consent," and wildly creepy smiley faces.

A pink Bluesky butterfly is superimposed with: Thank you to the 14,000+ people who shared feedback on our community guidelines.

To Helen A's left is a funky smiley face. To her right reads: Please CONSENT to the Community Guidelines with a SMILE. Happiness will prevail!

The bottom half is more text from the Bluesky admin post: We're updating our rules for clarity, strengthening enforcement, and introducing product changes for healthier conversations

Small print: don't forget: they're actually rules (re: the guidelines)

The details of Helen A's mug are "we *heart* consent." The letters are lopsided and curlied and the "heart" is split in two halves. It's actually broken and neither half matches the other.

For emphasis:

The main quote from the Bluesky admin's post reads: We're updating our rules for clarity, strengthening enforcement, and introducing product changes for healthier conversations.

Fine print: Don't forget: they're actually rules.

Yes. I saw a closeup of fingers labeled as "explicit sexual images." The most annoying part is that the labeling system itself is useful - but has NO NUANCE and then auto-slaps SO MUCH straight into "explicit sexual images." "Fix it? Nah." - bsky #bskycensorship #art #artists #fuckcensorship

Effie Trinket wearing a blue dress and a Bluesky butterfly in her hair pulls "fingers" out of a jar of artistic topics and art subjects that have fallen victim to the auto-labels. A non-exhaustive list includes: classic paintings, character sheets, anatomy studies, cuddling, artistic nudity, fairies, hugging, kissing, vampires, sleeping people, cat ears, feet, nipples, commission sheets, statues, anyone topless, creature designs, and kitchen sinks. Actually, it was a bathroom sink on a different platform, but I was still floored that somehow a SINK was supposed to be explicit sexual content.

Effie's speech bubble says "What are we labeling as 'Adult Content' today?

May the odds be ever in your favor!

Artists! How do you draw hair? Trying to play with it and try new things, but probably still leaning on bad habits. lol #art #ocs

Roman has long, copper orange hair that's partly wavy/curly but long enough that the weight pulls most of it straight.

Airk's dark purple hair came out really shiny looking, with teal rim lines. It's pulled back into a ponytail with a bit of loose, wavy bangs framing one side of his face.

Apple's brown hair is mostly short and wild and flying everywhere to match her energy, with a longer braided portion with an orange ribbon hanging down her shoulder.

Kul's shorter version of his brown hair is swept mostly to one side to show his ear with his silver bonding (wedding) earring. He's an orc.

Artists! Post your hot men art! In my humble opinion, all my guys are hot. I just don't do them justice. lol #ocs #artsharing

Airk is an original character from an original species. He has primarily pale blue skin with purple tones that start at his chest and darken along his arms, and a purple swath across the middle of his face. His dark hair is pulled back from his face into a ponytail and he has intense yellow eyes. He's shirtless and moderately muscular.

Roman is one of my favorite original characters from an original species. He's primarily green with orange across his forehead and going down from his chin. His waist-length hair is coppery orange and slightly curly. He has multiple facial piercings, including eyebrow piercings, snakebites, and three piercings down the bridge of his nose. He's wearing fingerless gloves and a tank top that shows off his muscled arms. His arms are crossed with a thumb pressed to his mouth and he's winking toward the viewer.

Florian is a pale-skinned elf dappled with bright sunlight. He has intense, bright blue eyes, staring directly at the viewer. The lighting made his hair come out more bright orange than I planned, but the color works really well to make his eyes pop, so I rolled with it. He has a silver nose ring and a silver stud in one ear.

Khaden is another original character from an original species. He's indigo blue with mottled black markings, has short navy hair, and his eyes are closed. He's lying on his back on a dock with his feet propped up on a piling. He's wearing green swim briefs, which means you can see almost all of his markings.

Shadowheart, existing, faceplanting on grease.

Aaaand this is why I haven't made any finished art for Florian and Kul. Orcs/creature design is NOT in my strengths. I think I need to make Kul a ref sheet and actually hammer out his features a bit. Sigh. At least it came out kinda cute? #ocs #elf #orc #ocsky #sketch

My pencil sketch of Florian (an elf) and his husband Kul (an orc) is really rough but at least it's recognizable as a bigger, bulkier man with tusks putting his arms around a much shorter man with curling hair and pointed ears. They're both supposed to be smiling, but Kul's eyebrows could be interpreted as frown. Or confused. Oh, well.

I did a stick figure version of "how to talk to short people" for Florian and Kul.

The first panel is stick figure Kul kneeling in front of pointy-ear stick figure Florian, labeled "Kneel?" X

Second panel: "Pick up?" With stick figure Kul lifting Florian to eye level. Florian has a little sweat droplet. X

The last panel, Kul has Florian flung across his shoulders and the orc stick figure looks extremely proud of himself, while pointy-ear Florian just sighs. "Shoulder sling!" ^_^

(Lol don't do this either)

Well, this was supposed to be a super basic, speedy Florian face, but turned into "ooooo, leafy sunlight!" Oh, btw, this is Florian, elf prince. Gets caught up in an orc raid by accident (or was it? Duhn duhn duuuhn). Of course now I have to make a portrait for his other half. #ocsky #art #elf

Florian looks like he has dappled sunlight scattered all over him. He's a pale elf with extra long pointy ears sticking up out of his shoulder-length orange-red hair, which came out more orange than it was supposed to but I'm not complaining. His eyes are bright blue and intense. He also has a silver nose ring and a silver stud in his right ear.

Trying to refine Khaden's marks a bit and distinguish pigment from shadow. With and without overlay gradient. Look! A setting! ^_^ #art #oc #ocsky

With the overlay gradient, the lighting looks more like a sunny day with a bit of chromatic rainbow cast, but Khaden's skin has more of a purple tint than blue and some of his markings are less clear. Khaden is lying on a wooden dock with his feet propped up on a piling and his hands tucked behind his head. He has blue skin with black markings and he's wearing green swim briefs.

Without the overlay gradient, the lighting looks overcast or possibly strong moonlight, but it's easier to distinguish Khaden's markings. What is your style? Mine is... under reconstruction. But characters/storytelling has always been my passion. #art #fanart #ocs

My OC Khaden is a member of an original species. He has blue skin with black markings and he's wearing his red and gold dancing outfit with dangling chains and gold fans. He's looking back over his shoulder and smiling, with just a hint of fang showing.

A closeup of Jinu and Rumi from K-pop Demon Hunters, kissing. Both of them are faintly blushing.

My OC Apple is a young girl who's running full tilt toward the viewer with her arms swinging and red tunic flying. Her dark brown hair is wind-ruffled, with a longer section that's braided with orange ribbon. She has a lopsided grin and she's clearly having fun.

I dashed off a quick pencil sketch of a bit actor from a historical k-drama this morning because he had a very friendly face. He has prominent front teeth and his eyes squint nearly shut as he's smiling. He's wearing historical garb that includes a headband and hat, and has a thin mustache and a chin duster goatee.

Quote with your woman art! All of these are ArtFight attacks. For bugmilk_exe, Beauz, Pokadury, and Lenci respectively. My own oc ladies are neglected. T_T #art #artsharing

bugmilk_exe's OC Ameliana is a redhead with a distinctive burn that spans her right eye in similar proportions to Prince Zuko from AtLA. She's wearing an A-line red dress with an off-the-shoulder V collar that shows off the necklace she's wearing. It's a red ribbon with a silver pendant shaped into the crest of her cult. She's lacing her fingers into her long, curly red hair, which is rimmed with gold light. Her expression is serene and confident.

Beauz's OC Erika Rivers is a young woman with long brown hair that's partly falling into her face. She's looking down as she hunches in her army green jacket, holding up her hand to show her energy powers sparking and swirling around her fingers. It's casting light across her freckled face.

Pokadury's OC Talia Reyborn is floating in mid-air, surrounded by energy rings and an aura of light, showing off her flight and energy powers. Her long, moderately wavy hair is floating around her head. It has an ombre gradient from silver to a dark raw umber. Her skin is a rich medium brown and her eyes are blank white. Her facial marks, her clothes, and her energy auras are all purple spectrum, from magenta to violet. She has classic superhero vibes and looks like she's having fun.

Lenci's OC Zhenya is trying to paint in her motel room, but her orange cat decided to lend "assistance" by spilling her rinsing cup. Zhenya is giving them an annoyed/amused look, with the paintbrush in one hand and the other propped on her hip. Zhenya is a buff lady with swirling tattoos on her arms and shoulders, blond hair that's pulled up in a bun, and her left leg is amputated at mid-thigh. The orange menace is looking up at her with a feline smile, their paw still poised on the cup, threatening to play with it. As one does.

Apparently this is a battlefield I'm willing to fight on. Also, just.... ROMAN'S FACE. OMG. (Roman and Haek, OCs, original species. Polyship!) #nsfw #fuckcensorship

Roman, who has green and orange skin and long copper hair, is laying back propped on his elbows while Haek kneels between his legs, holding just under Roman's knee.

The view is mostly Haek's back, butt, and thigh, with his patchy green, blue, and pink pigments and some scribbly gray marbling that I may or may not keep as part of his design.

Roman's face and part of his torso is visible in the gap between Haek's body and arm, and frankly his expression says that he's about to get completely railed. Bonus orange Roman butt in the shadows!

Side context: Roman (he/they) is a true hermaphrodite, and usually he's cautious about being topped (worldbuilding/story reasons). He's less cautious with Haek. This is how they get to find out that somebody's birth control failed.

Khaden is nibbling on Geo's chin while she's lying on her back with her arms above her head. She's shirtless and clearly enjoying herself. Her eyes are closed and her mouth is partly open. The lighting is dim and moody with a bit of glowing rim.

A pale haired, naked elf is on his hands and knees on a swath of red fabric. He's wearing a similar expression to Geo's and there's a blush on his face, but the frame cuts off right around the top of his hips... so as far as you can tell, he's alone. Maybe.

Male anatomy jump scare!

A naked male Hawke from Dragon Age 2 with a red smear across his nose is getting up close and personal with an equally naked Fenris, whose lyrium markings are on display all the way down to his knees.

Haek's turn to get a portrait with proper shading. ^_^ Aaaand I changed his markings again. His face felt too "busy," so I took out the gray streaks and tweaked some of his patches. (Original character, original alien species) He has a ref sheet! refsheet.net/Packrat153/l... #ocsky #ocart

Haek's key features are his waist-length silver hair and his patchy, piebald pigmentation, which is a mix of de-saturated blue, green, and pink. He's more subdued than his partners and he's wearing a high necked burgundy tunic with a knee-length brown coat and gray slacks.

The dark blue patches on his face and upper lip make it look like he's frowning or sneering, but if you zoom in more closely his expression is actually softer and more neutral.

Airk is an Eridiani, which is an original species, so his skin coloring is primarily pale blue, with a strip of lavender across his eyes and nose and lavender across his chest that darkens to black along his arms. His super dark violet hair is pulled back into a curly ponytail, with some escaping curls at the side of his face. His eyes are bright yellow, standing out against the darker lavender. He has an intent expression. He's shirtless and very buff. I might have overdone his abs a bit.

Sharing redheads! It's Rain! (Please ignore that it's slightly unfinished lol) #oc #artsharing

Red Rain of course has red hair. It's one of his signature attributes along with his distinctive facial scars and pale eyes. His hair is raked back from his face and it's long, slightly curly, and loose, coming down to his shoulders.

A horizontal scar slashes just under his eyes from one side of his face to the other and intersects with a slightly bent vertical scar on his left cheek. More scars are visible crisscrossing his torso and limbs because he's wearing a version of his arena garb, which means he's shirtless and wearing a thigh-length kilt.

He's also wearing shin guards, leather bracers, and a metal shoulder guard on his right arm. His helmet is tucked under his right arm and he's holding the shaft of a spear in his right hand. The spear isn't colored or shaded.

Behind him is a vaguely rendered set of stone coliseum risers implying that he's standing in the arena. He's a gladiator.

Meet Vance Harcrow. Human. (the ears are a headband) Vance starts out as a cis man and ends as a woman. He's not trans/not dysphoric. So why get surgeries to change his sex? His mate's planet doesn't recognize m/m marriages. Vance found a way. Humans are good at being defiant like that. #ocsky

Vance has short red hair with white tips that swooshes across one eye and similarly colored fox ears. He's shirtless with pale peach skin and an average-ish, fit build that's pretty typically masculine. This is his "before" look.

Oooo, I finally get to do one of these! How do I draw fangs? Subtly and as an afterthought, because I forgot them again. lol I need to draw some vampires sometime. #ocsky #art #fangs

Khaden is the blue one on the left, with his fang poking out and his hand in the social media heart pose. His dark navy hair is short and his markings are mottled black. On the right, Roman has his mouth closed so you can't see his fangs but he has snakebite piercings which I also sometimes forget to draw, so it counts. He has green skin with orange accents and long copper hair with some curl to it. Roman is holding up his middle finger instead of the other half of the heart, because he's a snarky butthole. They are poly boyfriends.

Khaden is smiling and barely has a bit of fang showing against his blue coloring with his black lower lip. He's wearing his red dancing garb with gold accents and thin gold chains with gold-colored metal fans held behind his back. He was supposed to have a gold headpiece but I forgot to color and render it, so he has a dark line across his forehead for apparently no reason.

I posted what I posted yesterday and brain went... "That one's really old. I can do better." Paused artfight and... *Squeal!* The lighting came out SO GOOD! Geo and Khaden this time. (Polyship) He keeps looking purple, though. I swear he's supposed to be blue. T.T

Khaden is nibbling Geo's chin while she's lying under him with her arms raised, eyes closed, and mouth open. She is definitely not wearing a shirt.

Going out on a big limb, but being brave because... censorship is bad. Joining the pushback today. Aaaand maybe I need to work on my own self censorship, anyway. (OCs Khaden (blue) and Roman (green/orange). Roman's hair came out super curly-looking; I think I overdid the highlights.)

The image is split into two panels. The left is labeled "Sometimes like this...." and the right is "Also like that," which is a meme format that was going around a while back. On the left, Khaden is cuddling on Roman's chest and being adorable. On the right, Roman is behind Khaden and they're... not cuddling, with implied NSFW. Roman is biting the back of Khaden's shirt because he's actually something like half a foot shorter than Khaden.

An #artfight attack for Beauz's OC Erika Rivers. Her energy abilities powering her own spaceship is such a cool concept.

Fire-like energy swirls around her hand, lighting up the side of her face that isn't covered by her long brown hair.
