Besides ghost jobs, they do this when they have an internal candidate they know they are going to hire but have to post the role externally because equal opportunity legalese nonsense. They don't actually want external candidates so when one comes along they relist it like new.

I dreamed last night I had left my corporate IT job to go work a less brain intensive part time job at Costco. In the dream I had achieved enough financial independence & only needed the healthcare benefits, not the pay. It felt like a good dream, but reflecting on it, it's pretty fucked-up...😅

My take on these numbers are people who have been laid off or underemployed are likely working multiple jobs/gig jobs which skew the numbers. Feels like this administration is going to go out in 2008 Gorge W style. The jobs reading is antiquated with how it's calculated aka a worthless metric.

The U.S. really baffles logic with how it economically works. Wall Street wants to see less jobs, because more jobs = higher inflation / higher borrowing cost aka rate hikes. Jobs numbers came in x2 above expectations today (which is probably BS & will get revised down).

Nothing I've experienced has been as bad as CVS's Caremark pharmacy, I setup a passkey years ago with a device I no longer use. There is no way to remove/reset it. I tried emailing their support several times & they have no idea what a passkey is...the reddit posts about it are hilarious...

Don't harp on yourself in this market. It's absolutely ruthless rn. Ghost jobs postings, or roles they legally had to post knowing they are hiring an internal candidate. New grad unemployment is exceptionally high. At my work, we have public job listings which will be filled internally 🙃

This is much how I feel about my work as well, also hitting 12 years. But at this age I am more focused on financial independence above anything. At least to the point I can go get part time work where I am not concerned about pay. Get health insurance, bonus if it's something I like doing. 😅

The new Pixel phone looks sad. Less RAM, took away the IR temp sensor for some stupid lighting. Pretty much a downgrade all around. Might have better battery life with the new chipset but noticed they also downgraded the fast charging wattage.

I shouldn't be surprised. The local Auto mechanic shop tried to sell me on replacing my PCV valve for ~$450 when I had my 60k maintenance done.... It's literally a $40 part & a 5 minute job 🙃 took less time than changing my oil. Yeah I don't think I'll be going back to that place.
