A scene from the anime "Shirokuma Cafe". Panda bear looks excited, probably because it is about to get some fresh bamboo. Pengisan (a penguin) is in the background, looking less excited, slightly embarrassed by Panda's reaction

From our end this means that p2panda will support using Willow as "support node" infrastructure: oblivious more-available nodes who keep encrypted blobs around for a certain time and given amount of space. Of course using Meadowcap capabilities to manage access and a path forwards for Willow […]

Looking from above at a tabletop, there's two hands coming into the picture from each end, the left one with a Willow sticker, the right one with a p2panda sticker. They try to "merge" but it does not work and ends badly .. but what happens next ..?

The panda sticker falls lightly onto a Pillow, directly above Willow. A p2panda + Willow adapter! Yay!

v0.6.0 of #p2panda has been released! 🌱 🥰 The star of the show is undoubtedly our new Node API ✨ If you've been dreaming of an out-of-the-box #p2p stack with built-in networking, discovery, bootstrap, #localfirst sync, event streaming, causal ordering, storage and more...this one's for you! […]

Hui! This is #p2panda doing #localfirst sync over #LoRa in a #mesh network 🐼 📻 We're experimenting currently with a log-based, replicated delay tolerant / store-and-forward protocol using the RNode transceiver firmware. All very early but fun!
A little Heltec ESP32 v4 LoRa capable chip with a small antenna attached connected via USB to a laptop. The chip has a little display which shows the RNode info. On the laptop screen we see logs, telling us that all data has been successfully transmitted.

Attached: 1 image We've been busy implementing p2panda's high-level Node API! It's an opiniated - but also much easier to use, out-of-the box p2panda stack: the thing which orchestrates all of our individual modules without all the footguns you might encounter when trying to assemble them yourself. Example: let node = p2panda::spawn().await?; let (tx, rx) = node.stream(topic).await?; This does networking, discovery, bootstrap, sync, event streaming, ordering, storage and more! Let us tell you more about it:

Nothing to see here, just a MacBook Neo and a GNOME OS laptop talking to each other via the #p2panda #GObject bindings for #Go. They even found each other via mDNS! (Needed a 5 line patch to the Rust build config, but that's it - everything just kind of work!)
A MacBook Neo on the left and a Dell XPS 13 on the right with terminal windows open. On the left is a source code snippet and chat window, on the right is the same chat window except on the XPS 13.

@pojntfx @d1 @cblgh omg this is so cool 😻 We've played with doing Python and Go bindings on top of the p2panda Node API directly / without GObject using uniffi and github.com/NordSecurity/uniffi-bind… but it got very clear very fast that it needs an actual Go developer to do this […]

Managed to get an initial prototype of #Go bindings for #p2panda to work! It's using the new GObject bindings and some new #puregotk improvements I've been hacking on these past few nights. Can't wait to actually build something with this!
VSCode with some p2panda and puregotk-related source files open. In the bottom left is a terminal window where two nodes connect with each other and exchange messages successfully.
