Publication 🎊 In this chapter, I explore the intricacies of political self-expression for influencers in repressive regimes. Honoured to be a part of this collection of studies that critically explore technology's impact on the understudied and marginalised across the world brill.com/display/titl...

I confess I’ve been struggling with my social media use since I learned I was pregnant. Despite dubbing myself an ‘expert’ on platforms in my work life and knowing precisely why this was happening, I still found it hard to digest the content I was being recommended via Instagram and TikTok.

A screenshot of the cover of an article in Glamour Magazine, titled “my algorithm knew I was pregnant the day I took a positive test - and the trauma content followed”. The article is written by me (Ysabel Gerrard).

This is arguably one of the best and most relatable takes on Twitter's demise and the exodus to blue-sky I have seen so far: holapapi.substack.com/p/x-out

Desperately trying to get my Twitter fix like a child who wished for a Tamagotchi only to be given an off brand one that fails at both quality and functionality.
