Reach's promise to go for 'less volume and more original content' sounds like a winning strategy until you ask who will do it? Not the 100s of great journalists Reach axed in 2025 or the scores leaving under recent VR rounds or the further 24+ FTE now under threat. Stop the cuts!

We must applaud small victories👋👋 But most people will still venture no further than the Google AI Overview, because there it is at the top of the page. And won't that Overview now be drawn increasingly from more low-grade content for which publishers cannot attract an audience on their own terms??
