windows recently installed bad noise cancellation on everyone's computers without saying anything; if you record or stream check your input device in sound properties and make sure "audio enhancements" is disabled.

a screenshot showing windows audio settings for an input device. the section "audio enhancements" has been underlined in red to emphasize that this is the setting that needs to be disabled

I'm starting to get what Eggman is saying. This absolute UNIT of a Hedgehog snuck up on me, made me yelp, curled up for a Spin Attack and then ran for the goal! #Hedgehog

I expect the next Twitch stream to conclude the X2 Story Run, but I'm finally getting them onto YouTube. 7 parts up, 2 up in the next few days and 1 final stream yet to be scheduled (I'm blaming the heat). And I hate to say it but I'm starting to think an actual X2 speedrun may actually be viable.

It's Jingle Jam time! Throughout the next 2 weeks there is a big charity drive for various charities, with loads of streamers getting involved and a big game bundle for donations over £35! I will be streaming when able, with proceeds going to War Child. My link is here: tilt.fyi/HNTw7LgWZI

I had way too much fun testing closed captions on stream the other day.

Owen smiles while streaming, with the closed captions reading
"yep it catches that Deez nuts
even spells Deez nuts correctly
oh I'm so happy"

It has been 20 years since my first PC parts. £200 for a high-spec (it turned out to be the ULTRA) is madness! The only things to survive are the Altec Lancing 5.1 speakers that I still use to this day.
