MCU Rewatch 017 (ahead of Doomsday): Many would say this film marks the beginning of the end of MCu's reputation for quality. I gather that many objected to film's often inappropriate humor. And it is silly. But it's also dealing with the deadly serious subject matter of a world's end.

MCU Rewatch 016 (ahead of Doomsday): Instantly, this eclipses the previous 5 Spider-Man films. It limits Peter's swooning by removing Mary Jane and Gwen from the story. He actually has 2 love interests in this but nothing happens with either. It's mostly Peter going to school & being Spider-Man.

MCU Rewatch 015 (ahead of Doomsday): Hard to believe James Gunn could find so many ways to improve on the first adventure, but he did. This is funnier and more touching. There are missteps. But it builds the foundation for the team, and repairs relationships (Gamora and Nebula, Quill and Yondu.)

MCU Rewatch 014 (ahead of Doomsday): I started collecting comics in 1975. I rejected Doctor Strange because I didn't like magical characters. His mysticism was never factually accountable, so it became a deus ex machina for scriptwriters. Even then, I thought that sucked. But this movie didn't.

MCU Rewatch 013 (ahead of Doomsday): Another example of one movie trying to accomplish too much. Winter Soldier mystery unfolded. Vision and Scarlet Witch romance blooms. Introduction of Black Panther and Baron Zemo. All under the umbrella of a weak plot. A monumental disappointment.

MCU Rewatch 012 (ahead of Doomsday): This one stands on its own as a good comedy caper, in the tradition of Peter Bogdonovich's "What's Up, Doc?" Love the casting, the plot, the effects, and the personality of the film. It's a very fun watch.

MCU Rewatch 011 (ahead of Doomsday): This features my favorite time in MCU Avengers history. We get to see the team formally working together, not just because of an attack. They have an HQ. They have vehicles. The have labs. They have staff. They have robots. This was fun to see on screen.

MCU Rewatch 009 (ahead of Doomsday): This one? Fucking brilliant. Probably the best MCU installment thus far. It's shot like an action movie but with superpowers. It has political intrigue, it's faithful to source material, and it has amazing casting. Robert Redford as the villain!

MCU Rewatch 008 (ahead of Doomsday): Isn't it funny how producers will tamp down a character's more lavish looks when designing costumes. In this movie, Malekith has dark armor and a pale face. In his first appearances, he looked like a frickin' Jack of Spades.
