Then and now. Left: Four Ways to Forgiveness (first edition), published by Harper Prism in 1995. Right: Five Ways to Forgiveness, now including "Old Music and the Slave Women," and with an introduction by Nnedi Okorafor—coming February 25th from Union Square & Co.
Two books by Ursula K. Le Guin rest on a table: on the left, the first edition hardcover of Four Ways to Forgiveness, which features four figures in a browning field against a very deep yellow sky. On the right, the upcoming paperback reisssue, Five Ways to Forgiveness, the cover of which depicts a high-walled city in front of mountains, with smaller buildings on the plains in front of it. The sky is a deep blue, and a crescent moon shines.

Just finished book 1 of John Gwynne’s bloodsworn trilogy. Such a wild ride following the exploits of Nordic inspired warbands. Fighting, gore and blood filled the pages of every chapter with hardly a moment to take a breath. A glorious read with a splash of “deep cunning” humour. On to book 2!
