Happy to share our newest preprint. We developed guidelines and analysis workflows for FLIM Imaging in plants. Multiplexing with spectrally overlapping fluorophores in plants is now possible. Have a look. Any feedback is more than welcome. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

New pre-print from the lab! We show that the subtilase SBT12a is essential for symbiosome stabilization in Medicago. Using HUNTER proteomics, we even got some of its substrates. Have a look. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Recording part #1 for a documentary on nitrogen in agriculture has started yesterday. Happy, that our team has been selected to report on symbiotic nitrogen fixation and how research searches for long-term and sustainable solutions. Thanks Magda and Casandra from our team to be part of it.

Just left X and deactivated my account there after 12 years. A first personal task achieved in 2025. Feels good. 😀

The plant science community at Freiburg University hopes for a fact- and science-driven decision on NGT-1 plants in the EU parliament this week. We should not ignore technological progress but rather take these opportunities as one possibility towards a more resilient agriculture.

I never found RG particularly useful and certainly never used it, but this "partnership" finally pushed my to delete my RG account. As we publish everything OA anyway, no work from our lab requires RG to be accessible for all researchers. And if so, there are better and more courageous platforms ...

Happy to announce that the OttLab Freiburg is finally also moving to bluesky. Will be a progressive process, but the first step is made. Looking forward to advert-free and no payment-ranked posts.
