I love the Deep Forest setup. It feels very "this hole was made for me" combined with a sapient gaia. I like my forest to be a permanent feature, turns civilization into islands where the only way to travel is by airship above the canopy. Megafauna in the deep forest make it too dangerous on foot.

I took an extended weekend and I'm playing the Soulframe beta with my husband. We're trying to crack into streaming, I've even got him a simple pngtube avatar made, but that's a hard row to hoe for a couple of anxiety-riddled shut-ins. X3 Maybe one day we'll figure out how to build an audience.

Inking is a whole other school of thought from drawing, it took me forever to be happy with mine. And even then I'm not sure I am. But if your flow wants to stop at sketching, that's valid. It gives the art character!

I'll do you one better, use canes even if you don't need them! Bring back the casual use of walking canes. Get ppl to make them in cool styles and colors. And bring back the half-cape while we're at it, make a style out of it! Pedestrian use of canes can only increase access for those in need.

That declaration is actually not legal. An act of Congress is required to permit that. I know the rule of law is a little soft these days, but unless all the stations simultaneously roll over and over themselves to Sinclair, I expect lawsuits and yet another lost case.

Some thoughts from my Booklife career book on being generous to yourself if you're a writer who needs that today because of not writing or not reaching a goal.

You have new priorities or responsibilities. We all experience life changes, and when we do, we have to modify our goals to reflect those changes. Each change carries with it a range of pitfalls and opportunities. When I quit my day job and began to live off my book and reviewing income I took advantage of that opportunity to make my goals more ambitious, because I had more time to work on them. But one thing I discovered is that without the structure of the day job I
also had to be more focused and work harder than I ever had before. Because I was used to the time it took me to do things with the day job, I had no idea how long things took when I could work on them 24–7 — or how important taking breaks would become. As a result, I missed several book deadlines before I adjusted to the new rhythms of my life — and had to go back and adjust my goals yet again.

You haven’t made progress on the tasks associated with the goals. While you’re busy berating yourself for being lazy, maybe something else is going on. Maybe you really don’t like doing the tasks associated with your goals. In fact, you dislike them so much, you can’t bring yourself to follow through in any consistent way. At that point,you have to change your goals or you’ll continue to be frozen. (If, on the other hand, you haven’t even attempted the tasks, maybe you just need a swift kick in the pants. After all, as the Romanians say, “A kick in the pants is just another step forward.”)

You haven’t met any of your goals. Sometimes elements of what you need to happen to reach your goals will be beyond your control. If you don’t meet your goals in a reasonable time try to be patient and give yourself a few more months or even a year. Then consider either re-evaluating your goals entirely or amending them to be more modest. If you take a few steps at a time, you might soon be at the top of the stairs.

You aren’t happy with your life. If achieving your goals doesn’t make you happy on some level — if you don’t feel fulfilled creatively — then you need to do some serious thinking about your life in general, and how your goals either support or do not support your happiness. There can be a huge difference between what others want for you, or what you think you want for yourself, and what the hidden core of you needs for happiness. Sometimes, too, talent is a curse. You may be talented in an area that doesn’t actually bring you happiness or balance.

I actually do recommend the laser, because the time and accuracy required to damage the sensors makes it extremely unlikely you'll manage to successfully do anything illegal. What I do NOT recommend doing however is putting a spray paint can on an extendable applicator and covering the lens.

I don't recommend cutting down flock cameras. I also don't recommend putting them in faraday bags, because they have trackers in them, which will help the authorities track you down after you've stolen them - which again I do not recommend doing.
